In our corner of the industry we do a lot of face to face marketing. Passing out the same brochure over and over again is pointless. We make new informational brochures up monthly or more and just email them right through Office Max's website directly to the store down the street and usually they are done within an hour or two.
We usually print them on a single page 8 pt gloss (really thick! because psychologically it's hard to throw away something so thick, it just seems important) and they cost about $1.00 each. We just print as many as we need for the month's visits and off we go. Fast and easy, and cheap.
Our target market is small so is usually costs less than $200/month. That's 1/4 what we used to pay for yellow page ads that produced virtually nothing.
