Not all military loses came from the enemy.

My Grandpa was a Navy vet of 20 years before he retired and then worked another 20 years with the civil service. Sadly the fact was he died 2 weeks from retiring and setting on a round the world vacation with my Grandma. He was such a good soldier he died on his own time also. Appd enough wits about him to turn the ignition off.

He served on the USS: Hornet, Yorktown, Wasp and Ranger. He lied about his age and entered just before war broke out. (just fior kicks he said Pappy Boyington was a big horses arse lol)

Anyhow, he was on the ship from this clipping. He said it was such a freak accident and said it just seemed fishy that someone did not see the ship of his size that they crossed paths with...
