New Website, Need Some Critique's

Hello,

About a month ago I bought out a company here in Houston, and inherited his website, After going through a complete redesign, of layouts, content and pictures, as well as seo.

Id like some critiques or feedback on the site. This site is a CMS site, but is using Dot Net Nuke, I have found this program to be incredible, and I highly recommend using it over Joomla, Wood Press, or Drupal

My other site is Joomla, and it has taken me a full year to understand its possibilities in the fullest.

im still going to add a slide show, as well as maybe a few other sections, but for the mean time, let me know what you all think.

Thank you

John

John......Are web guy? If not hire it done. I know a little about my joomla site but I still hire some updates. I do the Seo on it in the winter. Besides that my job is to pressure wash its what makes me money.

Re-write the copy is my critique. It's a nice looking site, but as a consumer, I have no reason to stay around there for more than 8 seconds. I don't care about you, or your business (as a consumer, not me personally ;)) and you have absolutely no hook.

Thanks Ant,

I have a bad habit when writing content, is to talk about my business and services, and not what I can do for the consumer, Ill try and grab some kind of hook, not to sure how its going to come out, Suggestions? lol

I understand Lou, But doing things as simple as content, is within my technical aptitude, Ive looked into re hiring the company that originally did the previous owners site, but I was able to do all the changes my self, some occasional link building, and article writing is about as far as I get on the seo side

We all have that stubborn habit, Bro. Just finish this statement in your copy - "This is what you get..."

Instead of "this is what we've got, or what we offer, or how we do this or that. Hope it helps mang, kick some butt.

Thank you for the advice Ant, I am going to sit down tonight and start rewriting, Ill email you or send you a pm, when its done, Thank again bud

Glad to hear you are doing so well John......Maybe you can pay me the $750.00 you have owed me for 16 months now......

Wow Gene, I thought he would have paid you before buying out another contractor and buying the website, especially since you were trying to help him out back then and has owed you since last year.

I hope he was not bragging about buying out another contractor just in spite.

I guess some people appreciate help and some don't.

Anthony.....googled Barstow hood cleaning, you popped up, went to link for your website and it is gone. What's up? You always have great insight and advice but I wanted to see the practical application of it. I know you utilize multiple sites to highlight specific offers, specials, etc., do you have an anchor site? Thanks.

Waddup Mike...

I use to worry about rankings, SEO, etc.. but now my websites focus on my customer, period. I send my potential customers where I want them to go. I let that site expire because it didn't bring me very much business. Here are a couple of examples that do though...

http://www.ductspinner.com
http://www.hoodwrapping101.com

My hood cleaning customers get hit with direct mail sending them to some private sites that I don't want any competition copying so you won't see them in the rankings for something like barstow hood cleaning. There are so few searches for that, I would starve if I depended on that.

John, my only advice is to change your service area. Remove all the Houston locations and in their place, make them Dallas and San Antonio. :)

Looking good buddy. Looks like you outgrew the surface cleaner I gave you. Lol

Great info Ant!

I can see what you are talking about, having spent so much time just to have the hacks and lowballers copy your website stuff, marketing pieces, etc....I am thinking along similar lines of what you are doing now.

You definately have the skills for marketing!
