I use a Delevan.

I am also using TSP, Borax 10.5% can't find 12.5 % in my home town.
If any of you guys are near Tall. Fl. and can find 12.5% I would like to know where.
I would also like to know is TSP can be replaced.
The delaven is a great pump. I am running it with a 1000W 2cycle gen.
Great combo.

I also use the delavan.I use a good soap instead of TSP but just water and 12.5% will do it.

there is no suppliment for the TSP , But the sodium hypochlorite 12.5 % and water will clean , I just like the added cleaning that the TSP adds and the soap acts as a surfactant to hold the chems in place to help in adding to the time that the chems stay in contact with the mildew increasiing the cleaning effectivness

I too use the Delavan pump we run two 5.3 @ 60 psi 5800 series pumps

hey jajohnson

Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5 percent and water, mixed 60 percent water to 40 percent Sodium Hypochlorite will clean a shingle roof.
TSP and Borax, the other ingredients in Apple Sauce are not "necessary".
But make no mistake, the TSP and Borax in Apple Sauce make for a nicer looking final product, and the roof done with Apple Sauce will stay clean longer.
A roof done with the addition of TSP/Borax to the mix takes on a certain "look" to it.
This look is seldom observed just using Sodium Hypochlorite and water alone.
TSP does make a difference.
Borax not only keeps roofs clean longer, but it is a buffer chemical.
It buffers around PH 9.
This means it "makes" the Sodium Hypochlorite cleaning solution "stronger" by keeping the PH down.
Formation of Hyperchlorus Acid is more favorable at lower PH ranges.
Borax effect on boosting bleach in Laundry is well known.
That is another reason why Borax is an ingredient of Apple Sauce.

TSP and Borax are inexpensive, readily obtainable chemicals.
They will enable you to make and clean with a field proven, state of the art, non pressure roof cleaning mix.
But if you are short of TSP or Borax to make Apple Sauce, only one chemical may be used instead of both.
And, in a pinch, you can clean with just Sodium Hypochlorite and water,
and NO TSP or Borax.

you r a very smart man, i used to live in tampa for a long time have you ever heard of murrys landscaping?

I cannot get Borax to totally mix into SH or water. I always end up with my container bottom covered with unmixed borax. I've tryed pre-mixing and several other things but nothing has done it. Am I the only one???

This is NOT a "problem" for us, because we pull from the TOP of our tanks with a feed tube several inches off the bottom!
Gravity keeps the undissolved particles OUT of the pump.

Suggestion ?
Give the Apple Cider a try, no mixing to speak of, and it cleans well too.

:)
