i just want to start off by saying this forum rocks, i spent last 2 days on here and everyone seems really helpfull, here's my question, i'm just starting out in this business what is the basic set up i can start with to get me up and running ? thanx

i will be doing this part time. residential and commercial. on the residential side the normal services driveways, pool decks, roofs etc... on the commercial side store fronts, aluminum siding , brick, sidewalks etc... i am a one man band or rapper...... yeah yeah 1-2-1-2...... put yo hands up!!!!! thats for you ron...lol.

I think you will need a minimum of $8000.00 if you are doing commercial. If you only do residential you can get away with a cold water set up for around $5000.00. I dont think $2000.00 will get you anything worth talking about, unless you find a great deal on some used equipment.

The smallest, cold water, belt driven 4 gpm machine portable machine is going to hit your for $1500. Your insurance alone as a new guy could be more than $2 grand. Concrete? You need a surface cleaner.. there goes another $500 for a little or used one. Hoses, wands, reels.. buh bye to another $500-$1000. Now you have all your equipment, how do you plan to get customers? Better set aside at least another $1000 to get you started then dump every dime you make into more advertising. You'll be lucky to break even and maybe pay for your equipment the first year. If that doesn't scare you, welcome to the world of pressure washing !
