Hey all,
My name is Nick Van Horn. I have just started a new business in my home town of Visalia, Ca called Supercharged Pressure Cleaning. This is my first solo venture and I am excited and eager to grow my business as quickly as possible! I am 24 years old and have grown up in the fast food industry as my family owns 6 chain restaurants. I have managed these restaurants for going on 5 years now and have been working in them for nearly 10. I have been in charge of facility maintenance for some time as well and have been doing pressure washing and surface cleaning so i am not new to the idea.

I have just finished putting together my rig and taking care of all of the fun permit and insurance duties recently and am now looking for work! I have been going door to door talking to business owners and have quoted several jobs, but I don't seem to be getting any call backs. Do you all have any suggestions for me?

I have been abusing this forum since day one with questions and it has been an amazing wealth of knowledge! I have practiced many techniques and have tried many chemicals and am confident in my abilities. What can I do to convey this to the customer?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Here is my rig btw. Its a 1985 International with 550 gallons fresh water, 350 gallons of waste water holding, an older hotsy 5.6gpm 3000psi hot unit that i put a new 22hp motor on, 250 feet of hose, a home built recovery system with a rigid vacuum and 1hp sump pump inside, be 18" surface cleaner, three 55 gal tanks for different downstream chemicals. Its still a work in progress with decals being printed. My website is www.superchargedpressure.cleaning

Any suggestions on how to get them to agree to a demo? Should I just be very pushy and insist on cleaning something? How large of an area do you guys typically "demo"?

Hey Nick, I'm never pushy when asking about a demo. For the ones who agree to a demo, I generally do an area 1ft. tall by 2ft wide. It's not too small and not too large yet shows enough of what the total outcome will look like. Also, I try to do a demo in as much of a hidden area as possible just in case they decide to hold off for a while.

I just checked out your website, do something with it, something better than what you have. Todays buyer is searching on the internet. commercial and residential alike. 90 percent of my business comes from the net. Newspaper ads are a waste of money for me. Most All of you advertising budget should be put into getting your website ranking as good as it can.

Nick, I just checked out your website and Steve is right. Sorry... You've got to make some major changes with it. Just friendly help, Nothing personal but it looks like a 16 yr. old built it.

Nice, it also helps to put your website in your signature as well. This board ranks very well with google and it will help you. I agree with the other guys about your website though. There are a few great web developers on this board that will help you.
