New contest

I’m thinking of displaying a job we did and giving the descriptions and details and let everyone take a crack at guessing the price. Of course the one whose closest win the 250 feet of Neptune 4500psi double wire hose.


What do you guys think of this?

I think this kind of contest is good, sure those that are not into the type of work you are going to post I am sure will have a chance when you post something they do in this business that others don't.

Do you plan on also mentioning how long it took to do that job and how many workers were on it?

Gives all of us a chance at winning.

Sounds like a fun contest, however some the more experienced people here will have some advantage over newbies like me, but I'll give it a shot. Never know might get lucky.......

What a fabulous and fun idea! Wherever did you come up with it?

For those with questions about the fairness of the contest, Don't worry too much. It is really a guessing game. Of coarse those with more experience will have a better idea of where to start, but so many variables go into the actual bidding process that no "formula" will return the correct answer every time.

The idea behind the game is to help teach newbies how others bid jobs. It will also let you see what facets of the industry return favorable profits. Perhaps you will find a niche in your market that you can fill!

As you may have guessed, I am all for this type of contest, in fact, I would be happy to donate prizes to be given away to the winners.
