I did this roof today with Apple Sauce. North Florida 13 year old roof never been cleaned. Applied Apple Sauce (mixed fresh with 12%ssh) twice rinsed in between after 30 minute dwell time. Can anyone see from the photos why it's not clean? I am going back on Sunday for another try.

Don't DS it on to the roof. You need to spray it direct with a chemical pump. SOunds like your mix was way too weak.

If you downstreamed that was probably the problem your mix is not strong enough. I think in earlier posts you were asking about chemical pumps. That is the way to go. According to most of the people that do this every day you can't down stream and get your mix strong enough.

I don't clean many roofs, but I do use a chemical pump when I do

good luck

The mix in the cook book is for pulling it right from your mix tank with a delvan or whatever pump you use to apply it with. Down streaming the mix will be to weak.

Also DO NOT rinse between applications. You can rinse when you are done. Some do not rinse. I do.

I used it like the recipe in the cookbook. I adjusted the size for 50 gal. then downsized it again for downstreaming. Do you think I didn't put enough SSH in the mix?

Well that was an easy one to figure out. YOUR :welcome: NEXT!

I was afraid of that. Looks like I buy a pump. Now how much mix to do a2400 sq ft house with a tall roof like the one in the photo with a pump?

You were asking about roof pumps then ended up downstreaming.

Here is a great idea: Try reading some older posts and do a little searching and read some more.

If you would have done this, that rood would be clean, you would not be here asking questions, you would have saved a lot of time, money and chemicals.

On the other hand, don't follow advice here, don't read older posts, just keep on wasting your time, chemicals and money.

Lots of people gave you good advice but you chose to do something totally different that nobody, nobody, nobody does or has recommended doing. Some reading would have showed you that.

The mix you chose to use.......Not many of us use that if any besides the guy that made it.

All the answers are there, most of them within the past few weeks.

Ok, I am done ranting. hahahahahahaha

Chris did you make a trip to Starbucks and get a Triple Latte or something? :shocked2: Hahaha

Nope. Just took my son home and I am doing the taxes for tomorrow.

Tons and tons of receipts to write down and then add up.

I wonder if quickbooks or quickbooks pro can do this, I am thinking that it probably can if I enter them manually each week or month.

Just taking a little break from all those receipts. hahahahaha

Nice talking with you.

Chris - It was nice talking with you the other day. Great advice especially on the safety issues.

If the mix is good it should take no more than 50gal. I rather make the mix weaker and just give it 2 coats. 60/40 should be fine with a little surfactant added to the mix.

NO problem, great talking to you too.

Did you call Lori?

Sometimes the safety aspect of what we do gets overlooked, I know because I do it sometimes myself, we are only human but we only have 1 life so we have to be careful when out there working.

Good Luck.

Haven't had time to call her yet. But with the help of a fellow Pressure Washer (let me use his equip) went back and finished the job. A lot easier with the pump.
