Ron Musgraves, Doug Rucker, and myself are hosting a Round table in Houston. The main topics of discussion will be, compliancy / Rules and regs / Requirements.

Ron has list of local "powers that be" from Houston enforcerment to the rule makers themselves that he will have present for contractor discussions and questions.

With the recent discussions about "compliancy" issues and concerns in Houston we feel that this supports the need for a RT in Houston.

It will be mid Feb.2011

The RT will take place approx 1 mile from the Hotel at a Lake Houston marina/resturaunt. ( Great awesome seafood )
We would like to dedicate most of RT to EPA/ contractors concerns and issues.

At this point in time I do not know what the cost per head ( registration)
is going to be. It will not exceed the cost of any other RT.

There will also be contractor time, and drawings, and free stuff as well.

But this may differ a bit from the normal RT as the focus will be on environmental issues mostly.
Which means there is not likely to be any hose rolling contest' or the sort
(sorry Chris C.)

Please respond to this post if you will be attending.

This would be a great chance for all of us ( as Doug put it ) to get on the "same page".

Please post your interest in this RT.

I am interested in going.

The more contractors that show up and have great ideas to show the people in charge that a lot of us know what we are doing might start them thinking in the right direction.

Maybe pictures/videos of reclaim rigs in action to show how compliant contractors can be without the need to haul anything anywhere.

It would be great if Jerry from Sirocco as well as Robert H from Deluxe would bring rigs to show what is available, what will do the job and how you don't need to be hauling anything anywhere to be compliant.

There should be representatives from the wastewater department so they can be shown that wash water can be processed and sent into the sanitary sewer properly and no need to haul wash water anymore.

It might be a good idea to invite the people that the rats..... i mean informants.....I mean "concerned citizens" call to report when people are out there pressure washing so that they can learn good ways to deal with the wash water issues as well.

This way everyone is educated, informed and can see our point of view and see some Logical, Rational and Reasonable solutions so that contractors can work and the AHJ is happy with the solutions presented and changes can be made so no more jumping through ridiculous hoops to earn a living.

Maybe this should be in a location where the AHJ people that might attend can make it there easily in case they come from work or have to return to work unless it is on the weekend, in that case they might not attend since they are probably salary and value their time off from work, what do you think?

With Ron, Adrian, Myself, and the four others that have expressed interest here on this thread it looks like we have 7 that are intersted in attending. Any more interested in attending so we can know how to proceed, please reply to this thread ASAP. Thanks.

Good luck with convincing the health department in Houston.

Since there will not be that many contractors from the bbs attending, it might be a good meeting anyway.

I think that with Ron there along with some other well-known and respected industry leaders and vendors (if possible) showing up to have a meeting with the AHJ members, it can turn out to be a great meeting.

With the right people there showing ways that the wash water can properly be handled and disposed of properly on-site, it might open their eyes to what is possible and maybe open their opinions of what contractors are willing to do to do the right thing and then maybe things will change.

Ill probably come. I heard there will be a free food buffet for all the attendees. Just kidding about the food. There are plenty of PW contractors in and around Houston which would like to attend.
