My flatbed Powerwashing truck

K here is a picture of my Ford F-550 flatbed truck that was just lettered this week. This truck is no higher then 7'2" at the highest point(Hose reels) so it can fit into parking garages that have low height clearance. There is a 550 and a 350 gal water tank on the bed which gives the ability to carry 900 gallons of water to a jobsite. Also the Powerwasher is a diesel ran 11 gallon/minute or a two gun set-up at 5.5gpm each with propane fired burners. There is a generator that I just fixed that will be attached to this Powerwasher. This truck I bought in Texas for $13,000 and it only had 52,000 miles on it. When time permits I'm going to add a few more things on this truck so it can store alot more on it.

This truck can pull down a house if we dont like the way the house looks:)

I'll post pictures of my yard space next to the sand pits where Jimmy Hoffa is buried that I keep my bucket truck and trailer and also I'll post some jobs we've done in the last couple of weeks. Just got this new digital camara(6 months ago) and I just started using it a couple of weeks ago. Just today I figured how to resize pictures..what a pain that was.

Very nice truck John.

How much weight can you put on the bed?

I am thinking of doing the same next year to get rid of my 14' trailer.

How long is the bed on the truck?

How are those burners working out, they look kind of short?

Thanks.

John, forget all that-

How FAST will it go?
:D

Looks like a nice and efficient setup!

Nice rig
I have a couple silvereagle rigs as well...straight out of cut-n-shoot

Propane burners have very minimal parts and they burn very cleanly. What a difference from the Diesel Burners I had in the past...but If I had to do it all over again I might have stuck with diesel because its easier to fill everything diesel--Except for price Diesel cost here around $3.60 gallon where propane cost me $3.00 gal.

The Bed of the truck is 14 ft..and this truck also hauls around an 18ft trailer at times. This is a Ford F-550 Diesel. The truck with the Aluminum flatbed weighs around 6700lbs..it can hold 10,000 on that Bed and the total weight it can hold and tow is 25,000 lbs so you don't need a commercial license to drive it.

Nice Rig John... Got to lovr those Ford 7.3 turbo's.... What does it pull lke with a full tank of water ? I was thinking about buying a similar truck .. It has a flatbed (tilt Wrecker ) bed... I thinkthe bed is like 16 ft on the one I am looking at... Really like the way you have the back set up.. How many feet of hose do you carry on those reels....

Thanks John. That is like what I want to do for next year. Have everything on one truck and no more messing with trailers unless it is a very big job and there is no water.

I like the idea of carrying alot of pressure washer hose . I usually carry about 200 feet on my hose reel with an extra 100 feet in my tool box..but believe it or not I could use more.. I wonder what the pressure loss would be on my whitco 3000@4gpm say at 400 feet of hose.. I had a guy at a local pressure washer store tell me that 400 feet was to long a run for my machine and could damage the pump and I would suffer heat lose from my burner..But I have run 150 feet up a building and 150 feet down a trash chute thats 300 feet and only suffered about 300 psi pressure lose most of which I believe to be from my duct spinner... Man I bet 700 feet of R2 hose would be hell to roll back up manually.. I get worn out just rolling up my 200ft hose reel....

John, I have a 3000psi 5.6gpm machine and the most I have run was 450' of pressure hose.

I did not hurt my machine and did not notice any real pressure loss. It was 200' on the hose reel and 2 100' sections and 1 50' section. The way that machine runs, I am sure I could go further without a problem.

NICE RIG JOHN!!

I played around with my pressure test guage to answer the question you asked about pressure loss with hose. It was hard to figure it out (I also heard something similar to this on another BBS) Near as I can figure it (this is just a rough estimate)... ya loose about 1 PSI per foot of hose and you loose about 1 psi for every foot in elevation.

Thats the formula that I live by. Since my 2 gun powerwasher is set up at 5.5gpm @3500psi so with around 400' of hose usually the most we use for each guy then where still running close to 3000psi @5.5 gpm each. No loss of GPM's and still hovering around 3000psi. There may be a small loss of heat since the thermostat is by the burners. I have a thermostat that goes down by the wand and it reads in the neighborhood of around 180 degrees so it running hot enough to clean most type of jobs that we do.
