My first pump rebuild

Im getting ready to attempt my first pump reseal. Going to replace all the o-rings, seals, washers and whatever comes in the kit....Wish me luck....

I have 5 pumps to rebuild. 3 small ones that I havnt made up my mind on rebuilding them or not and 2 8gpm pumps that are a for sure rebuild. I keep putting off ordering the parts. I wish the pressure washer stores here were more resonable on there prices.
 
Someone just gave me a 13hp Honda with a general pump that has been sitting for about a year. I thought the pump was good until I took it apart and the connecting rod was in a million pieces and the plungers were all cracked. The pump was free so now I know how they come apart. Too bad I couldn't fix it.
 
actually gene it is not too complicated at all. being your first one i am sure you were alot like me and nervous about messing it up. i bought my parts from russ johnson and when you buy parts from russ he is always a phone call away to assist.

Hooray ! Rebuilt my 8gpm general today and it works great....I must have learned something at Phoenix Rt after all....Did not need any special tools.....
 
Hey dont knock general pumps.. I have a ts1511 been runnig 6 years and only rebuilt once... I have also had a machine with a cat pump ... cat pump lasted about 2 years and thru a rod.... I have also had a comet pump it ran about 2 or 3 years..Good thing about general pumps is that they are a cake walk to rebuild ... I rebuilt my frieds 2021-B in about 20 minutes..

Parts were 125 New pump 750....My labor cheap......Learning how PRICELESS

John, get an Udor and never rebuild:)
