mud dobbers

I cleaned a vinyl sided house that was twenty years old. When I washed it, muddy water ran down the side of the house out of the little vent holes in the vinyl. No matter how much I rinsed it continued to run down the house. I eventually had to let it dry and get a wet rag and wipe the muddy run off off of the house.
Is there a better approach? Should older houses be bid higher in case of problems like this?

WASHED TO TRAILER ON MY WAY BACK HOME TODAY , HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THEM .

AFTER I GET THROUGH WASHING I GO BACK OVER IT AND STAND BACK SO THAT THERE IS JUST A MIST HITTING THE VINYL , THIS WAY YOU DONT KEEK FORCING WATER IN BEHIND THE VINYL.

MEL is correct. You need to stand further back and wash/rinse so water wont get behind the over laps of the sideing. Most times you cant just wash a house in a clockwise or counter cloockwise direction, sometimes you need to jump around[most times that is].Sometimes your cleaner will get behind it and weep out after the rinse and streak the heck out of it.
Wash once,rinse twice.
