O.k., the 20hp Honda on my Alkota (800hrs.) is nickle and dimeing me, so I want to replace it with a 24hp Honda. Questions are, #1 is the 24hp the same size as the 20hp (height-width)? #2 What serial number or code prefix do I need to use (I know the model) #3 Where is a good source to buy this motor??

Reason I'm going to a 24 is I'll be up-grading the pump (tsf-2021) later to make it a 8 gpm unit.

Current unit is Alkota 5355J 5gpm ts-2021 pump.

The next question is will the coil handle heating that amount of flow. Most on here will tell you you will need 3/4 coil to heat 8gpm successfully and do it at a efficient rate

No the coil won't handle that flow, it will heat it just won't be as hot, I've got my other Alkota for that (8305).

I have 2 tfs2021 pumps. They are great pumps. If the flow is to hi to for your burner to hit the high temps just just downsize your tip for that job.

Russ wil know the best thing, i was just thinking the same with my 21 horses. i want to replace them with 24 horse diesels...

The engines are physically the same size. Is your muffler reuseable or will you need a new one? Which muffler do you have? ( Makes a difference where the oil filter mounts) What is the crankshaft diameter on the existing engine?

I did not know Russ sold just engines too. There's a lot to be said about buying from someone like Russ that knows small engines inside and out. Try to get a engine problem question answered from one of the others and you'll just get an order taker on the phone.
