I think we have a first admendment issue here.
In the seventies George Carlin came up with the seven words you couldnt say on television.
I think they were SH_T , P_SS, C_CK, C_NT, C_CKS_UCKER, MOTHERF__KER,
and T_TS. Now here, in America the majority of people use expletives to express their feelings and opinions. Even schoolchildren and crazy teachers are allowed more freedom of speech than here. Namecalling using swears is tacky but I am sure most of us have heard and used all the BAD words.
Are we not a group of MEN and strong Women here. We can take it. Cmon guys follow me. YEAHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh
My suggestion is that we have a temporary moratorium on the puritanical swearing ban here. See how it goes. I am sure you have many better things to do than Ban people for saying S_H_1_T. A multiple use word. Invaluable in my trade.
The next thing we could be lynching people in back alleys for spitting on the sidewalk.

Some do not have a problem reading profanity, for others, well, let's just say they'd rather not. Conveying an idea without resorting to off color language shows intelligence.
 
OK Look at it this way. Lets ban all the words that are not in the Dictionary. Offensive to me may not be offensive to you. Who has the right to be the overseerer of words. If it is in the dictionary, we should petition them to be removed. Or we could make this a cult site. HMMMMMMMMM. We could have our own rules that are exactly opposite those of the average American Citizen. Yeah thats it. Lets buy a camp where we all can stay.
 
Ed – We have basic standards and language vulgarity does not meet the standard. There is a place and time for everything – PWI is not a battleground for George Carlin and the dirty word list. The simple question is this – Would our lives be better for the use of those words on PWI. Anyone who knows me, knows that I use those words often, but not in church and PWI. :eek:

Do you really want to tarnish the professional image of this site and it's members, by allowing; foul, obscene, and/or vulgar language? If you wish to promote an unprofessional image of your business and yourself, go ahead, but don't drag others down your path to ruin.:rolleyes:

Read up Ed, has nothing to do with the 1st Ammendment. The 1st Ammendment prevents the GOVERNMENT from alowing you to say what you want (to a certain extent)

These posts are available on search engines and your posts can be read by potential customers. Type your name into your search bar and you may be surprised at what you find. I belong to these boards to learn and share information. Keeping the tone professional helps us all. There are enough people out there tarnishing the image of this industry. We don't need to add to it.
 
I agree with Doug. I live near metropolitan Philly. The F-bomb is a part of the contractor conversation. That doesn't mean its not low class because there are far better words to choose, but it is what it is. When speaking to someone from the Bible Belt with whom I am familiar I may let it slip more frequently than I should. There is something different about reading it in print though. I honestly question what you are doing with your business time if this is the best topic you can come up with for a new thread. These boards are not democracies, they are privately owned and operated business extensions. What if I walked into your house and let loose in front of your wife and children a string of racism and curse words about the f'ing n----s and f'in spics and made myself look like a complete piece of white trash? Would that sit well with you? Would the explaination of "it's my constitutional right to say what I please" make my case? Its about being an adult.

And TGP guys, I have seen enough pictures of clean and dirty systems everyday across my desk, you are not showing anybody anything they haven't seen. Show us pictures of unusual situations, or unusual methods but stop wasting bandwidth on pictures of everyday stuff.

Why does everybody hate the Patriots so much? Just because they are the best this year? The Redskins were my team, but they didn't have what it took to even get past the first round, but that doesn't make me a Patriot hater...I love to watch them, they're exciting because they are the best. Kinda like TGP...:D (couldn't resist)

I swear like a sailor, but not in front of my mother, kids and customers. why would I want to have a customer read that kind of stuff here all the time. It comes out on the boards sometimes Ed Why do you want it here

But give it up Ed, it is never going to be accepted here and Im very glad

I'm sure there is some site that allows swearing and all that kind of stuff, maybe some one can find you one where you can get it all out and then come here and be a boyscout

I dont like vulgartiy. I do use it sometimes. Here it falls into the petty catagory. The word Sh1t, is banned. I just feel to right to express my undereducated , lack of vocabulary, opinion is at risk. Racial slurs are not in the vulagrity catagory in my opinion. Apparently someone elses. I dont use them. I do like to call someone a Mother f_c_er every now and then. It eases tension.
I didnt know anyone hated the Patriots. They must be real ^$%#@$$#$$0s
 
Jeff, you can join my contractor usergroup at DIY Chat Forum and say anything you want. No public access ! Buuuut, the software automatically edits the curse words with different words, not ****, so your commentary may read a little strange.

This is what the powers that be want you to think, that every kitchen exhaust cleaning company out there that is certified by them is doing a great job. That kitchen exhaust systems are supposed to be clean, and when a guy puts a sticker on a hood, that means he cleaned it, especially if he is certified. THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE!!!!

Let me ask you this, how does a certified kitchen exhaust cleaning company do work like this? This is a certified kitchen exhaust cleaning companies account. They "serviced" this kitchen exhaust system weeks before, and let me tell you there is YEARS of buildup in the system and it is an EXTREME FIRE HAZARD in a hotel no less. A hotel that could burn down in the middle of the night while people are sleeping. I guess they forgot to turn in pictures of this job.

I think thats the whole point, the pics you see are not every day stuff.
