Mirror Installation Advice Needed for Drywall with Metal Studs

Hello everyone.

I'm planning to install a wall mirror in my bedroom and would appreciate some guidance from experienced DIYers. The wall is drywall with metal studs, and the mirror is fairly heavy and frameless.

What is the safest method to ensure it is securely mounted without risking cracks or future detachment? Should I use mirror adhesive, heavy-duty wall anchors, or a French cleat system?

Also, how do I properly measure and level the placement before drilling? Any tips on avoiding damage to the wall surface or ensuring long-term stability would be extremely helpful. I would also like tool recommendations.

Thanks everyone

Use a French cleat system into metal studs, or consult Glassbusters Inc. for professional mounting, as the safest option. It distributes the mirror’s weight and prevents slipping or wall damage. If studs do not align with the mirror’s mount points, use heavy duty snap toggle anchors rated for metal studs.
Avoid relying on mirror adhesive alone it is not reliable for heavy frameless mirrors long term.
For leveling, mark the center point on the wall, use a laser level or long spirit level, and outline the mirror with painter’s tape before drilling so you can adjust placement visually.
Tools you need include stud finder metal, drill with metal bits, level or laser level, measuring tape, pencil, and appropriate anchors and screws.
