Min. Sized Buffer Tank

2 ft bed tool box still fits! The tank is only 65 inches long!

(His goal is to hook up to water at every other restaurant or so. The combination of the truckbed tank and trailer tank gives him about 2 1/2 hrs work time.

He's got a downtown contract too that needs a lot more water hookups than it has. This tank will fix that problem.

Ant On one rig we have a 15 gal tank, on another we have a 35 gal tank. Neither one has ever run dry.
Both have hudson valves.

I was going to say 20gl or myself....

Hey Tony if you guys don't make a deal I may take that off your hands.

Maybe we're thinking about this wrong. The reason we went with the additional tank was because of this:

I've helped Chris on quite a few jobs. I've got a 325g tank. We've both USUALLY got 300 ft on the reel and both run 6gpm each. I can easily do an entire 600 ft section including gum with the 325 tank and hook up water every other time. He has to hook up every where he goes. Believe it or not hooking up to water takes more time than you think. Plus it's an added stress factor if the water source is ......well....technically unavailable.

How much time could be saved if you could eliminate 1/2 of your water hookups each night?

I don't know, maybe we are thinking about this wrong.

Nope, you are thining about it right. The problem is that water usage for a hood rat, and a concrete guy is totally different. They use their water for final cleanings, and touch ups. They may run their machine for 20 minutes a location, and they are there a couple of hours.
You use yours for full on cleaning, and if you are at a job an hour, you are running it 50 minutes. Different animals entirely.

Ant, you could get a clear 55 gallon drum that has the open top and install a Hudson valve in the top and a bulkhead fitting about 2" from the bottom to run a hose to your pressure washer.

As long as you have water flow, it will not overflow unless the hudson valve gets some trash in it, it does happen sometimes.

If you use garden hose connections, you can take the drum out whenever you need to when it is empty and not have to cut hoses, just unscrew them.

The 55 gallon drum will only take up 2'x2' area in the truck and about 3' high more or less.

I like that ideer, Chris. Any links on where to find those?

The Hudson valve is available at most vendors here on the bbs and probably locally also.

Here are the bulkheads, you can also get them at places that you can buy tanks, Tractor Supply, etc....

Here are the brass mpt to garden hose fittings, also available at most places that sell pipe fittings and garden hose:

The open top drums should be available but I would go with clear or white so you can see the water level so you always know how much water you have inside it or if you have water supply issues. I would go with open top so you can install the fittings and Hudson valve.

Wow. Chris just bought this 425 tank today to put in his longbed. We've got a 120 gallon we'll trade ya! He's trying to hit short stops without hooking up.

Tony, look to the right of the tank on the shelf, that looks like a good size hose reel. That looks like it might be good for lots of garden hose or for storage only for pressure hose.

You are welcome Ant.

Feel free to call if you have any questions.

I would offer to trade you something Anthony, the only thing is I have though is 2 - 370 gallon water tanks on the trailer and 2 - 220 gallon tanks on the truck.

I'm gonna take a 370 gallon tank off the trailer and put it on the truck instead of having 2 - 220 gallon tanks then put 1 of the 220 gallon tanks on the trailer along with the other 370.

Now all I have to do is find space in my garage to store the other 220 gallon tank til someone wants to buy it or I put another small trailer together.
