I picked up two of these Landa Cyclones about 6 years ago, they did not have the stainless swivels, they had the brass swivels that were mounted underneath. With the amount of commercial concrete work we do, the brass swivels would last about 4-5 weeks before going bad.

I was going to retro fit them with the entire assembly that was on the newer landa surface cleaners but didn't see the need when I could fabricate everything I needed with the exception of the swivel.

They are bad ass now.

I was thinking of getting a cyclone and installing a Deublin or Whisper Wash swivel on it and have a great surface cleaner. I have not had the need for the adjustable height so far but I like the idea of tires on the back and a stationary handle like my Steel Eagles and Big guy surface cleaners.

Any closeups of the machine mod's?

I called Whisper Wash and asked if they could make a kit to convert the Classic to make it like the Landa Water Jet with the tires in the back, castor wheel in the front and a stationary handle but they said that there was no interest in that so they had never developed a kit or a Classic with the tires and different handle.

I am sure I can have a welder make something but it just easier and faster to just buy a kit and install it if there was one.

Next best option is getting the Cyclone and putting a better swivel on it since the shell and other parts look like the same quality of the Water Jet, just a different color.

That is what I want to with my 24" stainless steel surface cleaner and also a couple of 20" plastic surface cleaners (Classic and Hammerhead).

I think they maneuver a lot better with tires on the back.

I also want to change out the handle to a fixed handle like on the big guy so you can push and steer with one hand if needed.

I just have to buy a welder and learn how to weld but maybe my welder can make something similar.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Theres nothing to it Chris. Buy a pipe bender and some 1/2"- 3/4" pipe and bend the pipe to fit your SC and your height.

Funny. There is a little more to it than that for building a functional and lasting handle for a surface cleaner. Getting all the angles aligned correctly, by my calculations you would need to have 4 angles, all in different directions for a once piece handle. Then not having crimped bends in the tubing is essential for this because improperly bent tubing will lead to metal fatigue and eventual failure. Of course you could do it, but I would suggest welding gussets onto the bends if you use a pipe bender at lowes or depot.

I may be over thinking this. You could also get on craiglist and find a used lawnmower, strip the handles and use that, but that would also need fabrication and likely some welding.

Also, a little gas mig welder is a handy thing to have, you can get them pretty cheap. Not hard to learn, but you might want to watch some youtube instructional videos ( I am assuming they have them on there) that would help with the basics and give you a jump start on the learning curve.

I was lucky and was taught by some great welders years ago and I absolutley love welding.....I look for things to weld just because it is fun.

I hear you on the welding fun Mike. I have made a few prototype handles for a 24" sc i have and the first one i made was hard to bend then I just thought theres only 4 bends,
most important 2 are the ones you hold onto. those go first (same direction) make the U and fit/ measure, then make the other bends that mount onto the SC then cut off the leftover pipe. I made one that can pivot when you need to get under the tables and benches with the pull of a pin. but is fixed the rest of the time. I think i spent around 20-30 bucks total. I wish it was made of aluminium though. Im making one for a 20" like what Chris is looking for just need to put it together and buy a good castor for the front.
