A grease fire broke out at Sonic Drive-In in Little Elm shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.
Little Elm Fire Department responded with three engines to contain the fire within 30 minutes with the assistance of Oak Point Department of Public Safety personnel.
When units arrived smoke was pouring off a grill inside the restaurant.
Little Elm Fire Chief Joe Florentino said grease build-up ignited in cracks underneath the cooking surface of the grill.
“It’s not an easy place to clean” Florentino said.
No injuries or significant damages to the structure were reported.
“It was all contained within the grill. It didn’t reach the walls,” he said.
The fire was the second at the 900 W. Eldorado Parkway within a week. Little Elm firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at the same location Wednesday evening.
No injuries or damages to the restaurant were reported at that incident.
