Marketing Ideas 6/18/07-6/19/07

Nicole's Daily Marketing Idea:

* Market to "Self Managed HOA's" in your area. Send out postcards, flyers or brochures at least twice per year.

* Wash your neighbors car for them and obviously don't charge. If you see them outside one day and you are out washing your car with your pressure washer, just politely ask "Hey want me to do yours".......seriously it works
(I got a fence & deck job out of this)

* Market to Real Estate Agents - They know that dirty houses don't sell for as much as a clean house does. What makes the first impresssion of a home? THE EXTERIOR. If its covered in moss, algea, cobwebs or whatever that makes a direct impact on the potential buyer. Offer the agents an incentive for sending business your way, maybe a discount on your services for THEIR home!

* Have a summer block party BBQ - We are doing one the 3rd week of July. We are inviting all of our neighbors and people who manage our commercial accounts. We supply all the food and drinks - insist on bringing the kids and having a good time. It's a great way to get to know everyone on a personal level, plus it always brings in new business! Plus we are going to have contests with the pressure washer for the employees: i.e fastes car wash contest....and so fourth

Russ so wanted to be the one saying that!

Everyone want's to "throw the bomb".
That is, contact a homeowners association in HOPES they can get all the work in that subdivision.
OR, get a whole Real Estate Office to just send work to them.
IMHO, wishful thinking.

Far better to market RIGHT to the end user in our experience.
Flyers are the answer, Post Cards even better.
EVEN better yet, is this.
Just get some magnetic business cards made, walk from door to door, and JUST introduce yourself.
Your ONLY purpose is to introduce yourself, and leave a magnetic card to place on the refrigerator.

You would be amazed how many sales are actually made when you are NOT trying to sell anything ?

Back when we ran 3 trucks, it was hard to get salesman, especially with my roof cleaning experience and sales skills.
Usually, all they did was get us into trouble.

So, I stopped running ad's for salespeople, and instead used clean cut, energetic young people to JUST go around, and "introduce" our services to the area.

The "salespeople" were required to obtain names and phone number, or al least write down the peoples names they talked to.
This keeps em from just throwing the magnetic Apples we used in the trash, and getting paid!

They were instructed that IF a sales opportunity occured, that I would handle it myself, or my Son.

They were then paid a comission, PLUS their hourly rate.

This was UNBELIEVABLY effctive, and supported 3 trucks.

Believe it or not, I STILL get calls from all those Magnetic Apples in peoples homes.
My choice of an Apple was not only because it is our company name, but an APPLE goes naturally in the kitchen, on a refrigerator!
