Russ, is it true you're not to use an additive in the motor, like lucas?
or a synthetic?

I run Amsoil in all my vehicles & motorcycles (motor, primary and gear oil). Haven't used it on any of my PW equipment, yet.

On my trucks, I get 25,000 between oil changes, and when I drop the oil it's still like honey.

Great info Russ, you never break in a motor with Synthetic. Dino oil for the first 1000 miles on my motorcycles, 10,000 on my Duramax. Synthetic is too slippery for breaking in a motor. On my bikes, when new, I drop the original dino oil at 100 miles (you'd be surprised at all the metal shavings), replace with dino oil, change again at 500, the 1000. Switch to Amsoil at 1000. Change every 5000 miles.

You can purchase Amsoil at wholesale cost. Contact a distributer in your area and have him set you up as a dealer/distributor.

Dino oil and a filter is cheap, compared to the damage you can cause your motor after the viscosity breaks down.

I believe that straight weight is better oil than multi. But synthetic blows doors on regular oil, absolutely worth it.

25,000 between oil changes?

Sign me up I have 2 F-450's with the 6.4 liter, change at 3500, at a cost of $90.00 per change.

Amsoil, I will definately look into that.

How much is synthetic only? 9 dollars a quart?

How often do I change it?

How much would I spend?

I'm not saying your wrong or right??? I dont know..

Do the math and lets talk about it..

Amsoil retails for about $11.00 a quart. Wholesale is about $7.00 per quart.

More savings available buying by the case, in 1 gallon or 4 gallon containers. Available in 30 gallon, 55 gallon and 220 gallon containers also. Cost drops to about $5.00 a quart.

Email me and I can send you the latest whole pricing sheet. The pdf file is too big to upload to the bbs.

5 quart bottle at wally for $15 on sale, usually one brand is on sale, $20 average.

I know there are studies and such to refer to about the superior properties but I'll take the common sense direction - YOU CAN"T BREAK IN AN ENGINE WITH IT because it's so damn slippery or something!

I know it takes heat better, so better for air cooleds in Arizona

I think any synthetic can go longer between changes, but I have no reason to doubt Mr. Cooney and the super extended intervals with amsoil which I have only heard great things about.

25,000 in my trucks between oil changes Tom, and the oil drains like honey oil. I also use Amsoil Fuel additive, 5 oz per tank. I buy the Amsoil fuel additive 5 gallons at a time. No smoke, cleans the injectors and supposedly improves mileage (although I can't tell with my monster truck)

If you're interested Tom, give me a call and I'll hook you up. I'll send you the wholesale price list in a moment.
