a little old lady called wanting a vinyl sided single wide cleaned , so I went to see her she was 101 years old , would you charge her ? I did but only 25.00 I felt she may feel that I felt sorry fot her so I charged her the smallest amount possible . I really didnt want to do the job anyway cause it was down a long dirt road but after I spent a little time with her I would do it all over again , she has out lived all her children and all she has left are grandchildren ...... nice morning !

You are supposed to be a cold hearted businessman. Don't you know you can't make money if you give your services away?

Good choice, and well done. I almost always get way more from the older crowd than I give them when I do work for them.

What a lowballer...

Sometimes old folks will make your day...

...or ruin your week...:D

You did the right thing. Great story Russ.

Look out Russ, you're getting squishy! LOL

PS - We're suckers for seniors more often than not. I'd rather do something nice for them than lower prices for some ungrateful yuppie anyday.

I've always felt a connection with older folks. My grandparents raised me for the most part, so I'm not sure if that's where it comes from or what. The way I look at it though is they have seen more days than I may ever see and they're a wealth of information and life experiences. How can anyone say 'no' to that?

You did the right thing.

I was helping out an older couple years ago in a different line of work..... They asked me what I did for fun. I told them I had 2 jobe which took up most of my time.

They told me life was to dang short for that. I should quit one and start shagging every chance I could get. They were in their late 60's. I was maybe 20. Still makes me laugh to this day.

Funny what you can learn from the "mature adults" out there.

The same thing happened to me with an old man who was the veteran of 3 war's... He came out all hunched over with his money in his hand to pay me.I just told him thank you for all you have done for our country and this is my gift to you..

The look on his face was worth every penny !!

Those are some pretty inspiring stories. It's nice to hear about the good things people are doing for each other.
