Posted: July 8, 2008 06:56 PM

Firefighters have put out a fire at the Smith and Wollensky Restaurant on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The fire sparked up just before 7pm.

Fire officials say a deep fat fryer caught fire in the kitchen.

Officials say the overhead extinguisher did not kick on fast enough and therefore the flames spread.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen.

That's a little scary, but I do read about that a lot. If they aren't cleaned on a regular basis and correctly, they have been known to NOT kick at all.

Well it sounds like someone's going to make some $ cleaning that up!!!
