Well, my Largo 8-12 GPM hotbox arrived at the freight terminal in North Augusta today so I drive down after work to pick it up. The guys at the terminal helped me unbolt the hotbox from the pallet so they could put it on my trailer with their forklift. It was all wrapped up in cellophane but I was able to use tie down straps to secure the hotbox on the trailer. I drove about a block away and parked in an Advance Auto Store parking lot so I could bolt the hotbox onto the trailer floor. I have a stand-alone generator on my trailer so I hooked up my drill and drilled holes in the trailer floor and bolted the hotbox to the trailer.
Very excited about my new hotbox I head back down the highway to complete the 108 mile round trip. When I got home I unwrapped the cellophane from the hotbox so I could get a good look at it. It didn't hit me right away but I suddenly saw a 12 volt battery which confused me. I'm thinking.........what is a 115 volt hotbox doing with a 12 volt battery hooked up to it. Upon further inspection I notice there's no electrical cord and the burner says 12Volt on it.
At this moment I'm just totally dumbfounded that I waited over 3 weeks and three thousand dollars just to have 500 lbs of useless metal sitting on the back of my trailer rig. Just really disappointed that Largo sent me a 12 volt hotbox instead of the 115 volt hotbox I ordered.
I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see where we go from here. Was looking forward to shooting some hot water but I guess I'll have to wait another 3 or 4 weeks for that.
Sorry for the rant..........just had to vent a little. Thanks for listening.
