Koi pond next to deck...cmon!

Not sure how to tackle this one. Potential customer wants this composite deck cleaned. its not too bad, just dirty (algae here and there). What do I do about the pond? What can I use to clean the deck, and not harm the fish. Even if I covered the pond, I am concerned about run off. Any ideas or suggestions.

I'd go with just water. It's not compulsory to drown everything with chemicals.. Water runs off the deck into the pool every time it rains so a bit of water with some dirt and grime in it wont hurt anything.

If too much silt and mud go in at once it will overwhelm the filters and you'll have some floaters. .real coi are expensive we have them removed before we do anything. Learned the hard way on that one.

I agree with Nicholas, have the customer remove the Koi

As mentioned, have the customers remove the Koi. If they won't, walk away.

What about a plastic sheething barrier. Not sure how big an area you need to protect or if its do able

Put them in a kiddie swimming pool with the water from the pond. Cover the now emptyish pond with plastic, plywood, and more plastic. Then use oxy clean as strong as hell, pump up that on the trx and rinse with hose. If you jusat use water, you arent going to clean anything off a composite deck. Think of composite like you think of roofs. NO pressure.
