I think you are being unfair singleing out the chinese. What about the mongolians, vietnamese, koreans and here lately the somalians. Yea the same people that brought you Black Hawk Down and RPGs for Cruise ships came out with their own brand of cooking glue. Got a call to give estimate - you clean hood? I was not able to move the filters to look at the plenum. I tried heavy scrapers and screw drivers they still wouldn't budge. What on earth do they cook with? The duct had a pretty light molasses like coating and smelled like baby farts and the fan was hardly coated. The place was cleaned April '04 by a defunct company, so I know it's good for at least 2 more years.
