Just curious??

I was a member of many associations. National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaners Association (IKECA), and Power Washers of North America (PWNA).

I dropped my membership in all of them in late ’96. I took the PWNA examination in ’98 and rejoined. I did not renew my certification or membership.

As others and I have said before, the certification process must have creditability. When this truly happens then it becomes a requirement for entry into the business! I do not think that this will happen in the time I have left in this industry!

Our whole society evolves around some degree of regulation-be it fed or state. We look at thing the way they should be or the way they could be.

Certification is one of those thing, everything around it requires license or some type of document to show that this person hold the proper education to perform a task. I don't see how it could hurt anyone in these times regulation and litigation.

I for one try to my company on the edge of new things and new concepts. I see a positive gain, from a more proactive approch.

Regulation and litigation is what is going to slow this industry down. That includes every one from the end user to the manufactures. The time will come when you will have to account for every gallon of water used and for what application and what chemicals were used and how the run off was disposed of.
Hope I never see the day. There may be larger cities allready headed in this direction.
I agree,Education and consistant learning are good things.
Learning the proper techniques to properly follow a job out
is truly enjoyable. And as David stated. May keep you from getting yourself into a bind with local regulations.
