PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING

You may have heard on the news about a southern California man that was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation, when it was found that he owned 100 guns and allegedly had (by rough estimate) 1 million rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel.

My favorite quote from the dimwit television reporter, "Wow! He has about a million machine gun bullets." The headline referred to it as a "massive weapons cache." BTW, I am dubious about the pile of ammunition boxes and cans that they showed. It looked big enough to contain no more than about 100,000 rounds, unless there was a lot of .22 rimfire ammo.

However, by southern California standards, even someone owning 100,000 rounds would be called, "mentally unstable."

Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:

In Arizona, he'd be called, "an avid gun collector."

In Texas, he'd be called, "a novice gun collector."

In Utah, he'd be called, "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment, until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.

In Wyoming, he'd be called, "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy."

In Alaska, he'd be called, "a free, independent subsistence user.

In Idaho, he'd be called, "a likely gubernatorial candidate."

And, in Montana, he'd be called, "an eligible bachelor."

And last but not least in Florida he would be unpreparred

Where does he live? I want to move closer to him incase the world comes to an end I'll have some added protection!

You can come down here!! Me & Kory have enough to start our own militia !!

Great thanks nick now I'm on a list somewhere.

Who u kidding you have been on the same list as me for years now!! The good thing about that list is that it's growing !!

HAHa your probably right. I ordered a laser boresight and that just came so now I can save some money on ammo. I have about 5k rounds and that takes up a lot of room. 1 Million rounds would take up at least 1000 sq ft. My next weapon will be that socom 16 or a barret 50 cal. Nick we should go visit Ron and Tony and setup a PWI Top shot compitition.

Its sad that people on my side of the states seem to think that people shouldnt be armed.

I actually have a female friend that thinks its illegal to have a loaded gun in your house. So many people dont know or even care what there rights are.

People only care about it when it's too late? I dont get why being prepared to defend yourself & family is such a big issue? There is not one sane person I know that would not kill anyone trying to harm or kill their family !! We treat this issue as if it is taboo....please, without guns none of us would be speaking english we would be slaves to them !! So to the nay sayers I say Lock & Load !! or Cry & Die !!

LOL - Back when I was a single mom, I kept a loaded gun in my apartment. My mom came over one day and threw a fit. I asked how effective she thought it would be unloaded and if I should just throw it at an intruder.

I love my guns :)

That is why you teach your kids at a young age what guns can do and are made for and they are not toys. Our kids never had a "toy" gun. My 6 yr old has shot my handgun a couple times..with assistance from Daddy of course...but he now knows what they do and not to mess with them.

I blew up some vegetation (watermelons & pumpkins) with my kids. One is scared silly of guns now and the other is active Duty AF :) We gave my son his first shotgun last year for his birthday.

We ALL love our guns :)

Most state constitutions required every adult male to own at least two guns for defense of their families and their state if needed.

The attitude we face today was predicted by our founding fathers. It's nothing new, It's the same attitude that dictators and monarchs have had for thousands of years towards the population being armed. The fact that our founding fathers KNEW that a Barack Obama, leftist, Chicago type anti gun dictatorship would eventually try to take our weapons is precisely why they made sure a man's right to keep weapons for his own defense was ensured in the bill of rights.
