I have him down to 1500 on the PW but I don't know if that is a good deal or not. I have been getting calls for gum removal and I need to get a hot water unit and ran across this. He said the solenoid on the starter needs replaced and it needs a new gas tank.
Thanks!

Russ would really be the guy to answer you correctly, but IMO yes.

The pump may be rated for 3500 psi at 5.5 GPM, But you won't get that much out of a 16 horsepower engine. Keep that in mind. Other than that, it seems like a good deal.

How many psi would you guess? Either way, the gpm doesn't change right?

I'm not exactly sure how it works. I'm pretty sure the GPM would be the same but it would be around 3000 psi.

3k is enough psi for concrete correct? I would bring my pressure gauge with me but I broke it yesterday.

I get concrete clean with 3000 psi @ 4 gpm:

Without running I would definitely pass on it. There are several things that I would be leery of, first off the age, having a 16hp pushing it tells me a little about the age, ts2021 were rated at 3000 psi once upon a time which if you do the math on it you would need 15.6 HP to run 5.6 at 3000 psi, I would bet money it has one of the old rainbow General stickers on it. Next I would worry about coil integrity, without pressuring it up you could be buying a complete turd with a burst coil pack which if it has been stored outside with water in it around here would give me serious concerns. Other than that how does he know that's all it needs, if it has been sitting unused for very long I can guarantee that isn't all it needs. Buyer beware cause I have seen people try to save a couple thousand on units just like this and end up paying a lot of money to have multiple repairs done up front and over time, then ending up realizing they would have been better off buying something brand new.

This is my thoughts exactly. He said the unit does run and the burner works properly. He said he has a very small gas tank on it now and he pull starts it. I guess I could make due with what I have now and buy a new machine when I have more money in the bank.

Thanks everyone for the input/advice.

If it looks as good as the picture shows it cant have very many hours on it. its easy enough to bring your trailer and pressurize the coil to make sure its not blown. I would chance it if you could get it for 750 or less.

I agree

That's either an old Excell, Elite, or Tuff. It's old as the hills. Do you, by chance have the serial number off the machine or the type number off the engine? They are sometimes good indicators of a machine's age. Depends on if the engine has ever been replaced.

Russ, I sent the guy a text but haven't heard anything back. I think I will keep saving up and get a new unit later on down the line.
