Is this bad customer service - or is it me?

Norhtern tool has a couple of reels that seemed to be missed priced, unless I was missing something. While I was looking, the live chat window dropped down so I asked...

What do you think?

Thank you for choosing Northern Tool. A representative will be with you shortly.
Hi, my name is Cal. I am a Northern Tool + Equipment Sales Specialist. How may I help you today?
Carlon: what are the differences between 159252 and 282687. It's the same picture but on holds more hose and cost less. I'm confused!
Cal: Hi Carlon.
Cal: I'd be happy to help you with that!
Cal: The picture is just a representation, go by the product specs.
Carlon: that's also confusing: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...=3&numR=1&catentryId=200312886&cr=4.7&numR=12
Carlon: Wheel Width (in.) 6 1/4 27 3/4
Carlon: what are the dimensions of 159252?
Cal: This Coxreels pressure washer hose reel measures 27-3⁄4 inches wide, 17-1⁄2 inches deep, and 18-1⁄8 inches high.
Cal:
Carlon: so it's 6 inches less in width but holds 25 more ft of hose right?
Cal: You can double check with Coxreels at 800-269-7335. That is the info I show.
Carlon: this is your product. I'm your customer. you are supposed to be customer service. and you're telling me to double check with the manufacturer of a product you sell and you want me to give you my hard earned money for. Really? You need another job and your manager should be fired. Seriously.
Carlon: Your brain (if at all active) shouldn't have even allowed your fingers to type such a ridiculous statement
Cal: You are calling a call center. I am not physically able to check the product for you. I did give you another venue to get the information. Have a great day!!!!!

I've pretty much come to expect that with almost anything "corporate". Chances are "Cal" isn't even in the US, he just does what his manual/training tells him. Probably knows nothing about tools and may even be doing CS for several different outfits at once.

Not good by any stretch, but fairly normal.

I think someone put wrong info in the spec page, the call center people have no clue, it is like arguing with the paper catalog, only more aggravating.

If you are looking for one of those reels, I have one that is still in good shape but I am replacing it with another reel, the cox reel is right hand cranking where all my reels I have ever had were left hand and that is what I am used to. Not sure how much it holds but I have 200' on it right now and there is still some room for at least another 50' or so. Let me know if you are interested. I can send pics.

That commercial is hilarious! I'm new to this so I purchases some flimsy reels to begin with. I don't personally have experience with cox, titan, summit, hannay or any other reel I hear mentioned here, but I need it to hold the 250' I have now and possibly more. I could get the cox reel $50 off here locally and no shipping. After looking it up online myself, I found out the cheaper reel is the one I'm looking for. - but now, after reading the posts here and others on this forum, not too many people like cox reels. I have to do something soon before the flimsy one falls off the trailer!

This says it all:

Steve your Reels Held up pretty good, we installed them on one unit that gets pretty heavy use. The other was on a demo unit and a spare unit.

No problems with the reels on the demo or the Spare unit.

After two years the only issue with any of the reels was the pin.

This video of mine really does not give your reel the justice it deserves.

My tech's like myself really prefer hannay.

In all fairness the COX Stood the test, despite my tech saying they suck its really not the case.

Two years and still working, get the latch Fixed and I see these reels being just as good.
