A big "Hello" to the forum.
I'm David and live in Corpus "Crusty" , Texas.
I have recently sold off my shaved ice trailer in favor of another business opportunity and have some capital to invest. I have a background in the service industry, 20 years as the General Manager of a local sports bar. I have a DBA and Insurance lined up as well.

For the past month, I've been soaking up info on this and other PW forums and have learned (book learned that is) quite a bit of info as well as learning who the major forum players are. From experiments on my own home, I have also learned that "letting the solutions do the work" is key to a professional result ... lol

I'm looking at the two entry level units from SBS as a starter rig:

4 GPM, 4000 PSI,HOT WATER TRAILER RIG upgrade to a 5.5GPM pump and stack if possible

8' Trailer with 5.5 GPM Hot Water Skid ready to go.

I'll be adding a SC of the 18" ish variety as well.

I have approached a few Realtors, Proprietors of 5 restaurants and Owners of several bars here locally, all personal long time friends, about PW services and have had promising results.
That's in addition to neighbors and home owning friends.

Sooooo .... could I get some feedback on the quality of SBS units plz?
feel free to shoot me an email reply or text and we can talk privately

The work is there, just deciding on a rig that will give me a few years use and a decent resale (lol) value.

Thanks in advance -
David

Thanks for your reply. I certainly will give you guys a call. It's quite a drive from South Texas, but certainly do-able.

Thanks again

Welcome to the Forum, I would say they have been around awhile an seem to always take care of there customers.

So if I bought online they would be someone I would trust.

Type of equipment an set up is a personal choice.

What are you going to use it for?

It all is going to depend on what you cleaning.. Residential Only, Resdiential and Commercial. lots and lots to consider. One thing I would never go with a trailer that small or a single axle trailer.

We make good money with flatbeds and single axle trailers here in Las Vegas. We are 100% EPA compliant and charge fair prices.

I hope you will be able to do the same in Texas. Call the PWNA and ask them why you can't if you have trouble making sales.

My focus is on restaurant exterior entries and walkways. Same with bars including outdoor patio areas. Most of those surfaces are plain concrete, stone or tile.
Resi ... drives and sidewalks both crete and agg with the occasional fence if I can sell it for a profit. Resi graffiti removal (fences) could be plentiful with the same scenario.
I'm looking to my Realtor friends to suggest services for sellers ... that's a win win all around.

Then there is The Island Community with their mill+ stucco homes, decks, boats, jetskis and assorted water toys...but I would be wise to work up to that imo.

I totally agree with a 5.5 gpm min and believe a hot unit would be a good starter with potential to up sell the restaurants and bars on front row parking spaces.

I like the idea of a smaller single axle unit as my SUV is just a 4 banger but, it's been paid off for several years and I'm not looking to get into a big truck payment ...

There are reclaim laws in parts of Central Texas in the Aquifer Zones but in CC, for what I'm looking at...no worries.

Think I got all the comments covered ...lol

Thanks again for the warm welcome, seems like a friendly community.

If you are going after commercial storefronts, time is where you will need to compete to earn good money. I would get an 8gpm hot ski, surface cleaner, a couple hundred foot of r2 hose with reels for both high and low pressure and a couple wands for popping gum, and be done with it. Sunbrite Supply are good people to buy from. Some may say that you should look for a good used rig to avoid the high startup costs. It is all personal preference. Best of luck in your decision.
