I'm exempt from this rule anyways. Funny thing is I was just talking to the wife today about replacing my unit with a low hour Hydrotek, Landa or Pressure Pro machine.

I only live about 5 minutes from the headquarters of the Southern California AQMD and do alot of work right here in Diamond Bar.

I wonder why they are targeting pressure washing companies and not the lawnmowing companies, there are probably 50 times as many running gas engines, probably 1/2 of them are 2 cycle so they would get a lot more revenue.

Sounds fishy to me, sounds like someone there is trying to eliminate the competition by getting the gov't involved. Even though they have to pay a fee for a permit, it really hurts the smaller businesses out there, might hurt some to the point of getting out of the business eventually if this becomes a trend.

It also sounds like people are out there talking to environmental departments about pressure washing machines and how they are hurting the environment, strange how they are not talking about lawnmowing companies or carpet cleaning companies or cement companies or trucking companies or other companies that use engines on a daily basis.

Wow.

I wonder if an org was involved in the talks along with other people there in california?

It seems I remember someone saying that any burner over 1,000,000 BTU was outlawed in California. (Actually, I think he said the US, but to him, the US is California) But his were grandfathered so he could use the super big burners.
Sounds like someone sold something to the regulating agency. I am on Chris' side on this.

And the PW#A agrees with this kind of undermining of our fellow contractors so much that they made him their "Western Environmental Chair"

I bet the people involved are part of the org and are having a good time with this, making life harder and harder for contractors out there trying to earn a living.

It is a shame that a pressure washing org is helping to make life harder for contractors not only in california but around the country also. What kind of pressure washing org would be harming fellow contractors out there trying to feed their families?
