Hi Ron P,

Been to long ago to remember what it was like with the first employee hired. We go throught a lot of helper/laborers. I have two fellows that have been with me each over 11 years.

Here is what we have put in the local rag when we are looking for help.

Commercial cleaning contractor taking applications for part time laborers. Pressure Washing-Water Blasting-Degreasing. Buildings, Vehicle fleets, Exhaust systems. Variable hours, days, nights, weekends. $8/hour to start. Call or send resume.

Ron, some comments:
1. Have not had much success in hiring long-term employees.
2. I hire folks as helpers, then move them into PWing.
3. Best person I had was able to go out on his own within 5 weeks. However, I still maintained a lot of involvement - i.e. I visited job sites.
4. I list through a employment rag, Job News. I have found that key is to provide info that cuts out the rift raft. For example, I put salary range in ad, state that person must have transportation, have good driving record, at least 18. I have them call my office phone. When I get home from work, I listen to their calls, and rate them based on the level of energy, applicable experience, and enunciation.
