I just got home from a 16 hour day and I will have to do it again tonight and tomorrow, Damn Old Age is Catching up to ME<<<<<<< I hope my helper makes it back in town today I need him, I have work coming out my EARS and me and my brother are running our Tails off. :eek: :D
 
Same here, came home to make a few phone calls and have supper with wife and kids, then back out again. I need a quality employee
 
i could use a little more work, but what i could use more is a good employee. we were "off" today, because we have two buildings to do this weekend so i had my helper go put out door hangers. he started complaining before he even put out twenty about being hot. he is in for a rude awakening tomorow;)
 
Are you guys having trouble finding help? I get calls every week from people asking for work. I'm not advertising either.

Yes!! and everyone I know is talking to people about work. I am working on placing an ad on craigslist. I have even been working with staffing companies and nothing.
 
Use craigslist, I think it will work for you. I have used it exclusively when looking for help.

Make sure you put "no experience necessary, willing to train." I've found that people with experience are not what you want. It's way better to find someone that is willing to learn.

Try to filter out the candidates by having them send a resume. You'll find there's a lot who don't know what a resume is!
 
Yea I'm getting tons of calls right now and I'm getting tons of people just walking up to me asking for work, it's crazy right now out there.

I just picked up two more jobs from my Quotes I sent out last month had contact today and they like what I sent and I got both sweeping and washing. All from the Web Site and it was an out of State PM, so make sure you are on the WEB...........
 
I have another 12 hr day today at my City job and then a house wash to do when I get off. I am also pretty busy right now.......have my whole 7 days off scheduled with jobs next week.........Not complain, loving it. Hope the calls keep coming!!!!!
Good luck guys on finding some good help, seems no one wants to work anymore.......and it scare me to death to turn just some Joe off the street loose with a wand.....lol
 
I get calls every week from guys ready to leave the other competitors or brag about thier experience but when asked about what kind of work or equipment they are used to they kind of start making up stuff.

I have hired a few guys from the competition in the last couple years and it was more headache and hassle than it was worth. Bad habits, trying to work so fast to try to impress someone but had to go back on everything to redo it because the quality was crap!

I would rather hire someone with no experience and teach them the right way and not try to break old or bad habits, a lot less stressful.

I am looking for someone right now but get tired of the same old people calling that only worry about what the job pays instead of asking what the job is, what kind of hours, etc....you know, regular questions instead of someone looking for a paycheck.
 
Chris thats the same with me, they all are Sweeper Operators LOL and have years behind them, what a JOKE. From what I see from the other companies I won't hire them, I want to train someone to do it the right way from the start and not make a mess of my trucks or accounts and I won't let them touch my washing, I want it done right with no damage to the properties.

They start out at the bottom and work up then maybe you can get the work done the right way from the start.

I agree with this 100%, however, I would add, if you hire someone who claims experience, put them on a probational rate for a week. If they work out, great, pay them regular rate for the week, if not, give them the probo. rate, your thanks and good bye.
 
I have the same thing people calling and coming up off the street asking if we need help. We are doing a trailor park right now and a guy came up to me with a broke leg and on crutches asking if we needed help! After about 5 min or so he decided he would ask if we wanted or new anyone who wanted to buy hydrocodone. We hired him on the spot!!!!
 
Well it was a fun day, I had a new guy that has been bugging me for work so I finally gave him a chance LOL well 2 hours in to the job he comes up with some excuse that he needs to go before his room mates leave or he would be locked out for the night and it was 11 am in the morning and wants me in the middle of the job to dive him home. I said the bus stop is right over there use it. Then he asks me if he could work for me tonight because he really needs the money? WTH are you talking about guy, you can keep working right now and makes this so BADLY NEEDED MONEY and not have to work all night. I was paying a good wage too, so that will be the last time I deal with him.

They all the Money but Not The WORK.


Good works are HARD TO FIND..........
 
Now I don't even bother hiring people with experience. I want them to learn my systems. You should see the look they give me when I tell them I'm looking for someone without any experience! Haha.:D

That is very true! I would rather have someone without any experience than try to break their lazy or dumb habits.

I like the look when I tell them that No Experience is Preferred. hahahahaha

Good Help is hard to find.

Good People that want to work is even harder to find. hahahaha
