I have asked Mike to add this section so that we could attempt to keep new, past and present IKECA member advised on what is new.
First off this organization is not for everyone however it does offer to the professional hood cleaner a way to network, new concepts, fellowship and a way become IKECA Certified.
The organization is made up of all sizes of companies from around the world. These companies have only one focus and that is the professional cleaning of exhaust systems. We don't service residential cleaning, wood decks, gutters, and trucks.
This group has several members on the NFPA Technical Committee and are always seeking solutions to problems within this industry.
We have several certification programs that deal with all aspects of the exhaust cleaning industry. This covers inspection CESI,Operational Service CECS and on site managers PECT(Professional Exhaust Cleaning Tech). The on site crew manger test is on line and is geared to crew leader-cost $75.
At the last meeting in Chicago in 03 some of the subject that was covered in depth were Vertical Riser Cleaning, Ladder Safety By Werner Ladder and Cleaning Precipitators and other vindors and exhibits.
A marketwise CD was developed for the members that could be customized for the members. This tool can be used for sales calls, AHJ's or any customer that needs that little extra.
Another issue that was developed at the show was for this group of cleaner to develop a IKECA Manual for cleaners. Better than 50 members are developing a indepth manual. We know that there are other manuals, but we felt that we should have our own develped by the members. The cost would be free to the membership and $250 (?) for those on the outside. The manual will be on the computer and updated as events change. A nice addition will be pictures covering the discussed chapter.
Another change is dues for members that service is less than $300m dues are $295
We feel this will become the industry standard once it becomes public.
We wecome any comments or concers. You tell us how we can welcome you to our group.
