IKECA CESI Study Material

Anyone taken the CESI Examination recently. I'm just wondering how accurate the study guide is I recevied from IKECA.

When placing the order I asked David Bazzolli at IKECA HQ how current is the test and when was the last time it was updated. He said the test was just updated. Funny my study guide makes reference to ASHRAE 1999 and NFPA 1998.

Did they update the test and not the study guide they are publishing and selling?

I purchased the CESI Study Guide from IKECA and have been reading through it and I know some of this info has changed and could have a negative effect on my test results.

I just took both tests at the Vegas convention. The study guides were poorly prepared as sections of the one I got were missing or outdated. The OSHA study guide material was just photocopies straight from OSHA material with no explanitory material, just very dry reading. Ask David Bizolli to make sure you have an up to date study guide and make sure that it is complete. There were 75 questions on the CESI exam and I would say about 35- 40 questions were on OSHA, 20 - 25 on NFPA 96 and 10 - 15 real world questions. Since you already passed the CECS exam you will recognize some of the questions.

Thanks for the reply Grant. I feel somewhat better about the study guide cause it sounds like I have the same material. I just hope they haven't updated the test, according to David B. they recently have. I'll leave one more message for D.B to give me a call. Testing on Friday, maybe?

If you have the same study guide I had, and if you take the same test I did...there will be quite a lot of material on the test that was not in the study guide.

Good luck!

Crap....

Ever had a sinking feeling come over you knowing that you're helpless. I mean you can ask the question but the quiver and stress in their voice tells me that the ball has been dropped and hopefully no one will notice. Have I ?

I had the same experience when testing for the CECS. Back before IKECA had their own KEC manual. I studied Phill's manual and took the IKECA test for CECS it was closely related but different I managed to pass somehow.

I'm not trying to hammer IKECA but when they told me the test was updated recently and then they send me this six year old study guide ....wtf?

When I get to old to do this cleaning stuff I think I need to open me a school... How to be certi "fried" .. Blue Light Special $ 19.95

You can get more than $19.95, heck Rusty was asking for $6,000.00 and I hear its gone up since then!

David,

Just read the CESI study guide and pay attention to the ASHRAE section.
Go over NFPA 96 - refresh your memory.
Look at as much of the OSHA ladder safety stuff as you can stomach.
It is not too tough.
You'll do fine - especially since you already passed the CECS test.

One more thing - don't stay out late the night before gambling and drinking.

Don't hang out with Chris & most of all Matt.

I would like to take this opportunity to distance myself from Matt.
I did not approve of his study habits, nor did I condone any of his behaviour while in Las Vegas and had absoutely nothing to do with his meeting "vegas bunny love" or anything that may or may not have happened after that.

I am responsible, I stayed on budget and was in bed by 12:00 midnight.

Duely noted Sir Chris and me tummy hurts from ladder indigestion.

I think I' gonna OSHA.
