Ignition Coil Wire Question

When we caught on fire the coil wire burnt down to the bare wire for about 4 inches. I forgot about that and have fixed everything else, but Harbor Freight is telling me the ignition coil won't be in for 4 weeks now.

Can I wrap it in tape and run it till then or should I just go local and grab a replacement tomorrow?

try a honda replacement one. I would think it will work

Home Depot and buy some.... Heat shrink ..I use it all the time when doing electrical 220/110 volts

Is it ok to use it till it gets here with tape or should I hold off?

If it's bare naked, I don't think tape will keep the spark from jumping to ground. It'd be worth a try, it's not going to hurt anything.

I'll have Chris hold on to it while I start it to make sure the tape is adequate.

Maybe get the jacket off an old spark plug wire. So those engines don't have that magneto ignition off the flywheel?
