I Washed the Wrong Home Today!!!

Well today I made a Major Boo Boo!!!
I quoted a job over the phone and I went to do it today and got about 90% finished and got a call from the home owner and I told her I was almost finished and she Informed me that was not possible because she was home and I was not there!!!
My Tom tom took me to the right house number but the wrong street!!!!:eek:


The homeowner actually came to this job and told me that when ever she ordered pizza ect... they have come to this house first.
Now the question .....have any of you ever washed the wrong house????
If so would you complete the job if you find out before you finished or just pack up as soon as you found out?
For the record I finished the job and I left with a funny letter telling my mistake and some postcards.

I just got off the phone with the other home owner, he said he washed it recently and it wasn't that dirty (yeah right) but thanks anyway.
How every the neighbor asked for my card...Maybe some good will come out of it!!
 
Hahaha! I did the same thing a few years ago Al. Manufactured home community. Their community map sucked and there are aprox 3000 homes in it. The messed up thing is that the one I was Pressure washing was one that I had done the month before. I was wondering why it looked so Clean. LOL... :cool:
 
Dont feel , bad, it can happen, I would say thank you lucky stars it was not a construction project, last year, or the year before a roofing crew replaced the wrong roof, it was over a $6000 job.
 
I cleaned the wrong location for the County last year. We cleaned it detailed it and the Maintenance super called me and said it looked like no one had been there. I said what are you talking about, Ill send out a guy to touchup. We made 2 trips to the wrong building. Finally did the right building. Duh. They got the 2:4:1 special. The buildings are on the same street but 3 blocks apart.
 
We have been fortunate to not have had this happen. However, we did show up at what we thought was a customers house, knocked on the door, and when they answered the door and we told them who we were, they kindly informed us that we were on Pecan street, not Pecan grove. OOPS!! I tried to sell them a roof cleaning because they needed it, but no go.

Luckily they were home, or we would have cleaned it just figuring they werent home and we'd call them when we finished.
 
Good job Al!! I bet that was a belly hurting laugh! If someone wants to accidently wash my house my address is......LOL!

Well hate to admit it but I did the same thing......had a realstate agent call me about getting of of there reantal listings cleaned after the tornado tore through Prattville. Went and looked at the house gave quote....got a call a few days later to go do the house...pulled up, no one would come to the door. so I started cleaning. Long story short and after jumping a 6 ft privacy fence that had a lock on it (didnt want to come back later to finish the back) I get to the back yard and can hear a baby crying inside the house........still no one came out.
I get finished and out front rolling up hoses this lady comes to the door and ask if she can help me....I explain.....come to find out I was at the wrong house!!!!!!! Bitch!!!she knew I was there....
I think the agent gave me the wrong address the first day the house I was suppose to be at was down the street.
The lady didnt even bother to attempt to pay me after got got insulation off her brick....the house looked like someone shot spit balls all over it.
So thats my story!!!!!Double check your addresses!!!

She got scared and nervous thinking we was going to get in trouble and did not want me to finish the job.
I assured her the that was not going to happen and that I SHOULD get a big thank you!!!
(I was kinda hoping they would come home and see the good job I Gave them)
By the way this home was almost twice the size of the ranch I was supposed to wash!
 
Today I joined our local chamber of commerce and I did a presentation of my business......when I got finished one of the ladies came up to me and ask me if I was the one who washed her home by mistake!!!!
Come to find out she is a major networker and it really was a ice breaker and a fun story to tell, I only wish she would have let me know it was her and I sure could have used that story to loosen every one up.
Overall it went pretty good!!!!!
