How Do you?

We have always bought our SH in gal jugs we have since decided to start buying it in 55 gal drums since we are able to get it for over half price. Our idea is to keep the 55 gal drum in storage and fill up 5 gal buckets to take to jobs to make it easier to handle. We are unable to carry the drum on the trailer since we are out of space, so for the ones that already do this how are you getting the SH out? I have thought about getting a 12 volt pump but really dont know how it will handle pumping straight SH.

5850 and 5/8 hose. Use a piece of 1/2 PVC and tape the hose with electrical tape for the drop stick. I have been using the same pump for transfer for just about a yr now.

Yes that is what we use for the last 3 yrs. When done i run 15 gl H2O though it.

There are also the red and white drum pumps, it will siphon until it is about 1/2 empty once started, after that you will have to pump it all.

Those drum cradles/hand trucks are great to use but I have never used them with the poly drums, only metal but they would probably work.

The inexpensive Delavan/Shurflo/Flojet pumps are not a bad idea either, I have used those also.
