How Do you Fit in HERE? How do you think others fit in? Have you received any help?

You can give compliments or tell something funny about someone.

Its the end of 2012, has PWI or its members helped you.

Has someone here assisted you and they don't know it.

Here's a thread to make someone feel good, or the entire community if it was to many to mention.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this community. Guys like Doug, Ron, Tony S, Paul K, and Jerry from Sirroco gave me either personal help, good advice on this forum, or made me think outside the box (sometimes all three). I look forward to getting to know many more of you this year at events or on the board.

I want to Thank Larry Millette for being himself, this guy is one of the funniest guys. I'm not jealous of David or Doug , I realize you think they are cuter than me. Sometimes it hurts my feelings you call them everyday and only me once in awhile.

Are we allowed to do contrasts?

Here's the contrast between an internet blowhard and a real contractor. I've never posted this in public.

(I post this at the risk of being baned or even sewed. lol)

In 2009 my son Chris got a call from Jim G. Jim offered him a garage cleaning gig in San Diego. He said Chris would have to use his own (non reclaim, no filter) equipment to clean the garage and pay his own expenses. He said he would pay Chris 25% of the gross........25%........let that sink in.

So Chris was to drive 6 hours to San diego, use his own equipment, pay his own expenses and the job was to take four days. For 25%.

So then came the question......how much is the gross? In other words, how much was Chris going to get paid. I told him Chris couldn't afford to pay out all the expenses for an "unknown" amount.

Well, apparently that was top secret and no number ever was revealed so the offer was changed.

Jim then offered him $1800 for the work and Jim would pay for his "reasonable" hotel bill and his gas. .......for four days work and 12 hours of driving.

Chris nicely told him to take a flying leap.

Here's the contrast......

Chris calls Scott and asks him if he has any spare parts for a 24 horse Honda motor because he needs some soft parts that burned in a fire.

Scott tells him he's got a FULL Hotsy skid at his location that had a fuel delivery problem and he took it out of service. He tells Chris to come pick it up and it's his.

Chris and Jill drive to Phoenix, Scott personally helped him load the skid on a trailer by hand.

Chris brought it back, installed an electric fuel pump and has been using that as his truck mounted skid to this very day. As a matter of fact he will be using it tonight.

Thanks Scott. You are like a brother also and I can't thank you enough for all your advice, help and conversation over the past 4 years. You are a true asset to this BBS and an example to be followed.

I have not been on the site that much lately due to my son being sick and my mother passing away (it really hit me many, many times harder than I ever thought it would), lost 2 of my biggest accounts and trying to stay busy working even though it has been very slow so I am out there looking for work.

I have received great advice like always from Ron M., Tony Shelton, Scott Stone, Doug R., and many others, Thank You guys!

I can honestly say that if this bbs did not exist, I would be in a totally different place (all bad and lost) mentally, spiritually and financially because I have had many, many great conversations with these guys and others about all different things that life has to offer you and I like to learn from other people that have been there and dealt with those issues so I can minimize my mistakes when possible.

This year has thrown me some really hard curves in many aspects of life and it has really been hard but I am still here, still struggling and still trying to make it thanks to advice from you guys.

This year has been my worst in many years in many aspects but I am still trying to keep on keeping on.

Thanks Guys!

Diddo! lol.

I got too skinny for Larry last year and he is no longer infatuated with me either. I've gained some wait (lol) this year in hope to get back into his good graces.

Sorry for your bad year Chris. I've enjoyed your input here and thank you for the time you spend on the phone helping Chris get started. And thanks for your HOT mix recipe!

I knew NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING, about pressure washing. I still dont know enough, but with the help from all the usual suspects, Scott, Ron, Tony, And EVERYONE else I am learning everyday. for that I am grateful. I feel that i belong to something.

Keep your head up Chris. it has to end sometime

DONT CHANGE A THING PEOPLE,

You can always tell the ones who want to help and the ones who just try to act like it. It's the same guys on here who really reach out to help and I try so hard to model myself after them. I don't know how they do it, but they know who they are. Taking a minute to reflect is very interesting. People here who have helped me are Ron, David, Doug, Russ, Pete, Paul, John, Traci, Jim, Scott, Tony, Nichole, Jeff, Chris, Eric, Larry, AC and I could go on. Guys have done the equivalent of putting money in my pocket at times I really needed a break. I pray for you guys that you will be blessed and continue your passion for giving in the New Year. The UAMCC will be the up and coming thing for 2013 so don't miss the boat. Here is an opportunity to mentor or to learn in a positive environment.

I think Chris Tucker should get some props, he has been a huge influence in the Roof Cleaning Industry !!

No doubt, and you too Nick. It's always funny how quick you set new guys straight on equipment and techniques.

And chick pictures!

This board in general has helped me, my business and my family.

I'd like to thank everyone that is straight forward, to the point and doesn't sugar coat anything while giving solid advice.

Thanks Ron for giving me the opportunity to get UAMCC Certified back in October and overloading my brain with business information.

Thanks Doug for calling and helping me out on a past bid, plus always being available for help.

Thanks Tony for your insights on our society/world. I know many label you a "tin foil hat" guy, but you have a talent for seeing BS and finding truth in life.

And thank you to anyone that has ever answered any questions of mine or given solid advice.
