How do the terror alerts affect you?
Do the terror alerts have any effect on your jobs. I guess because I work in and around DC every time the level is elevated, everything goes haywire. No one will let you park anywhere, everyone wants extra notice to give you access to roofs or loading docks.
At the airport, which I almost understand, instead of a simple parking pass, I now have to unload the truck at the loading dock, drive it to a special holding lot that is practically off airport property and take a shuttle back to the airport.
The malls have gone nuts; I had a mall that insisted we do our work during normal business hours. OOOOOOOOOK! I had to explain what we do and why we couldn’t do it during normal hours to four people before I got someone who agreed. We ended up doing the roof and upper duct on Sunday at 6:00 PM (had to be off the roof and out of mall by 8:00pm) or pay the security guard to stay with us. We left the inside set up, and came back at 6:00 AM, Monday, (the next time they had an extra guard on duty) what a pain. Three months later the alert is lowered and our only requirement at this mall was to be off the roof before dark, no guards followed us all night.
