How’s your local economy?

Big question. Good question.

Soft. Hesitant. Too many professionals out of work, too many worried about layoffs, too many worried about water restrictions. At least the worry about white vans and contractors is over.

Pretty much the same as Beth's, without the worries about water restrictions and white vans.

So. Cal is doing rather well. (I like all of you, but don't move here).
We have been steadily increasing customers and jobs. Most of the riff raff in the business is gone now, including one big company. One other company is actively persuing some of our accounts, but we get a little more than half of them back after 6 months or so. He is better at sales than at flue cleaning. It keeps us on our toes, but every customer we regain is a customer for life. So in effect he is selling for us in the long run!

Hey Steve, I've been around, mostly reading posts rather than posting and just generally trying to keep the proverbial wolves from the door, between nonstop rain and threats of hurricanes every couple of weeks for the last three months.
Problem being that circumstances like that cut down on advertizing money, so I went and got a couple of yellow page adds, trouble is they dont circulate till the spring, so I'm surviving on repeat customers and a few new ones from home made fliers.
Nay worries though, I grew out of giving up a long time ago!

Economy is fairly stable in KY. New residential construction drives my business. Interest rates drive construction. So no big problems.

Our local economy has been soft for the past few years! The last unemployment numbers that I saw for our area were around 12%!
