House Washing Trouble

I went to clean a house today, this was a very old house that has had vinyl siding put over old partical board type siding. The more i would try to clean this house the more the old sinding would run out leaving yellow streaks down the side of the house. The house would come clean great but after a few min. the yellow streaking would start again the owner took me to a place at the back of the house where he could lift the siding exposing the old stuff the old stuff is so rotten underneath the you could put your finger in it. I tryed just a brush and water hose working from top to bottom and power washing from top to bottom but I can not stop the yellow color stuff from running out. Has anyone ever seen any thing like this?

No....... i would stear away from these older homes that have a giant band-aid on them in the future .,..!!!

i sure have seen this.
you are useing too much pressure or squirting water UP at the sideing and/or washing/rinseing againt the overlap.
you should not be getting water behind the sideing.
sideing was never designed to have water hit it at anything less then a 45 deg angle.[downwords]
any wood covered by sideing should not be that soft, they have much bigger problem's then streak's.

Thanks Ron and yes they have a much bigger problem than streaks the basment is full of water and it is my thought that the old siding is pulling up moisture. I was cleaning the house at a downward angle and my pressure was at 2000psi to 2500psi To much?

Well I got it clean and the home owner is very happy with it, turned out to be a major Pain in the rear. I just had to keep wipping the streaks untill it stopped. Then I went back after the house was dry and hit any streaks that started after I left with a rag and bleach.
