Hooked up my deisel fired hotbox today trying to get it going.
Pours white smoke badly??
After running for about 3-4 min flames started coming out of the exhaust opening. (alot of flames)??
Any sugestions would be helpful.
Thanks

hmm, sounds like it wasnt ignited the first few minutes and soaked the coil in diesel, then when it ignited, it IGNITED! You just need to adjust the igniter leafs or clean corrosion off springs... sorry, im not russ but i know the answer.

I am having the same problem with one of my units it just smokes like a freight train. There is no problems with igniting, no fuel leaks, and just started doing it this week. The filter is also new so maybe someone will give us both an answer

well, he said after 3-4 minutes it flamed up, if thats the case, sounds like it ignited late. Could be fuel nozzle. If you have a 12 volt, good luck, have no clue...

I've had the insulation on the burner end come loose and fall in front of the spray.

It lit late for some reason. Electrode adjustment, partially clogged nozzle, air band out of whack. If it hasn't been run for a while, start fresh with a new filter, nozzle, clean the fuel pump strainer (you'll need a new gasket), and see what happens.

What color smoke? White is an incomplete burn, black is excessive fuel or not enough air. Could be sooted up or the fuel pump piston may be stuck at full pressure

If its black smoke it could be a lack of sufficient voltage, what type of charging system do you have?

110 Volt head, just completely rebuilt, 2.75 nozzle and worked fine for the first week, now the dreaded white smoke is everywhere. I checked the filter and its new as well. I played with the fuel pressure and will put a gauge on it tomorrow and see where were at with it
