Hose Reel

I was in need of a decent hose reel for our roof cleaning rig, the ones we had been using were just not holding up for any extended amount of time (sturdy plastic garden hose reals with appropoiate fittings), they never leaked or stopped functioning but the guys may have been a bit tough on them and they kept ending up in pieces. Not a big deal as I was being cheap.

However, as I looked at the various reels available like cox, summit, etc, they were still more than I wanted to pay. I had a couple of these high pressure reels that had been sitting in my garage for a few years that were too small to do anything with. I started to look at the construction of them and decided to hack one up and see what I could build. I love welding and fabrication and this is what I came up with. The only thing left is the support on the handle side...my drill press is in my shop and I did this all at home...need to drill a 3/4" hole in a piece of flat stock that will support that side. I think it will serve it's purpose and if it does work I will convert the other one I have as it only took about 2 hours and cost $12 in metal.

Thanks Trae.....I actually had that exact one that we used with a Fatboy....didn't last too long because of the corrosice nature of the SH. The metal did not hold up well.

Then we went through about 3 of these, chemical resistant but easily breakable.
