Military Rules for the Non-Military Personnel

Dear Civilians, We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand.

Here are a few of the areas we would like your assistance:

1) The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem ... kick their ass.

2) When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest... kick their ass.

3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these Veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these Veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a Disabled Veteran kicks their ass.

4) (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDU's), telling others that you used to be Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay if you were still seven. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5) Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass kicking (children are exempt).

6) If you witness someone calling the U. S. Coast Guard non military, inform them of their mistake... and kick their ass.

7) Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper... it was a disgrace and disrespectful. Laugh, and sooner or later your ass will be kicked.

8) Next time Old Glory (U. S. flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her... of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass kicking.

9) What Jane Fonda did during the Vietnam War makes her the enemy. The proper word to describe her is "traitor." Just mention her nomination for "Woman of the Year" and get your ass kicked.

10) Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans and we all bleed the same regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command, is to include our commander in Chief. The President (for those who didn't know) is our CIC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those "representatives" meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. The military member might direct you to Oliver North. (I can see him kicking your ass already.)

11) "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me ... stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!

12) Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists, so stop saying "Let's go kill those Commie's!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me ... if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers; let me know, so I can go kick their ass.

13) Flyboy (Air Force), Jar Head (Marines), Grunt (Army), Squid (Navy) etc, are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That could get your ass kicked.

14) Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of sailors and troops far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get its ass kicked.

- It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.

- It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

- It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.

- It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Do you find yourself transfixed with CNN or FNC or MSNBC? I know I am and have mixed emotions.

I wish I was there. In the first gulf action I was an Air Force medic. I was at a 1500 bed hospital, that thank God and Country, we were not needed as was projected. I was in charge of a 10 man unit that attended to the critically injured requiring ventilatory support. I spent several weeks traveling the theatre of operations training surgical units to use a device I had manufactured that would increase the amount of oxygen capability from one oxygen tank. I can say first hand that our troops then and even more now are very well trained and know exactly what they are doing. I often wish I could be there again. But I have passed the sword on to two of my boys as my dad did with me.

Dave, I had to read your post several times just to get through it emotionaly. Pardon my rambling, but sometimes I need to get somethings off my chest.

It really gets my goat to hear or see young men and women shunning the American Flag. The gaul of them to turn their back on the playing of Our National Anthem. The PRICE OF FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE. We are doing the right thing no matter what the misinformed protesters may say or think. The decision to send our sons and daughters into harms way is a decision I am glad I never have to make. Those who have to make that decision do not take that decision lightly. Don't think for a second all information is not gathered before the decision to "go" is given. God Bless them and give them the wisdom to do their jobs to the best of their God given abilities. I am not a very religious person but beleive in a Higher Being that oversees all of us.

To those of you who served firtst hand I SALUTE YOU EVERYDAY and still feel the comradery we all shared. Be proud of the decision you made to give your time and life to country. Now I think my 20 years was too short a time to give, but my sons will be my extension.

To those of you who served in your own special ways, support, prayers and thoughts, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We felt your support. Especially from the school children that sent us letters over there. They were some of the most heart warming words you could ever read.

To our future service people, I salute you for making the decision to serve your country and give something back for the freedoms we all share and to make this country and world a safer place. You will be a part of an elite fellowship that you only will feel once you are sworn in. Your sacrifices are appreciated by others, don't ever think they are not.

To others, the next time you see Old Glory think of all of our fallen that tried to make a difference. Those of all the wars that gave thier all. May they always rest in peace with our deepest gratitude and love.

God Bless America.

Reed

I was over in Bosnia living in tent city with a group of Air Force & Marine Members fighting for the interest of my country. I have been away from my family for over 5 months. The night I left my family, my 7 month old daughter crawled for the first time - I learned what my daughters first words were, that she started walking, about her first birthday, and favorite foods in letters written to me by my wife. When I return home, my daughter did not know who I was - can you imagine the pain. As I return back to the States at Atlanta air port - I was waiting in the airport for my flight into St. Louis to see my family - Sitting there in Uniform, a couple of teenagers walk by with a miniture United States flag turned upside down - you could see burn marks in one corner. Already in a very emotional state anticipating seeing my wife and wondering what my daughter reaction would be to me - tears came out of my eyes - I stood up in my Military Blues - Pop to Attention & gave them a Honor Guard Salute - They just look at me along with everybody else in the area - An older lady shouted to the teenagers- you kids should be ashamed of yourselfs - I look at the lady and said - Mam, thats what is so great about this country, they have the right & I help to give it to them.

I felt so much anger at those kids, but I was so proud. It is a blessing to live in this country. A privelage that a lot of Americans have sacrifice and gave their lives for. My person sacrifice stated above is trivia compared to others.

There are two things that I will never forget in my life:

The look in those teenagers eyes, when I stood and saluted the very flag that they were degrading.

The look in my daughter eyes, when I return & she didn't know who her daddy was.

With all that said - I would go fight today - I have good personal friends that are over there in harms way. I have been glued to FOX, everytime they talk about POW's, Deaths, or anything - I always wonder if it someone that I have worked with or one of my friends.

My prayers are with you. We must all pray for our military members and their family members.

ONE NATION UNDER GOD. Yes under GOD.

U.S Army 82nd Airbornne Infantry SSG 1983-1991

I would gladly pick up a Ruck and Rifle and join my brothers of the silk right now.

I am so tired of people asking me "I bet your glad your not in the Army anymore"

There could be nothing farther from the truth. Any man or women who lives in this great nation which chooses to shirk there duties as an American, or chooses to denounce the fine men and women of are armed forces needs to go to the nearest consulate and request an exit visa.

I would also like to salute our British Commrades, they have also decided to fight the good fight. On most reports you hear the are fighting side by side with us.

Do I believe in God?? Yes (I would have to much guilt to say no)
Do I pray?? Hardly ever.
Am I religious? No
Why- I have a very logical mind and when you break it all down to much doesn't make sense which is where my problems are with religion. All religions for that matter.

Should our nation be considered "One Nation Under God" ??
ABSOLUTELY
Why??Because our great nation was built on with that belief.

As for the Military- I was over in Beriut Lebenon right after the Marines were killed in There Barracks in 83. My heart goes out to our MEN and LADIES serving our GREAT COUNTRY. I support them and believe in them with all my might. NO BLIND FAITH here.
Logically it all makes sense to me because of the FACTS.

If needed I would leave tomorrow to fight for this great country because to me this country is like one big family and I would defend my family to the death.

Those people that protest against us fighting for freedom I respect there right but have no respect for them. Same with the Flag Burners.

Vietnam on the other hand was another story. Either way our Service Men and Woman should NEVER EVER be disrespected in any way because they sacrifice it all for our way of life which is..........FREEDOM
