Hi all, I have seen some ride on surface cleaners out there and there a expensive. Has anyone thought about making one???. I happen to have a used mobility scooter that is zero turn. I am thinking of putting a 24 inch stainless steel surface cleaner in the front and putting a tall pole and pulley on the back so help withing controlling the pressure washer hose. What do you guys think about this???

That might be a good idea but how long will the battery last? It might not be good for ramps in parking decks.
I have replaced the batterys with 12v marine deep cycle battery's (because i had two of them here) So far i have driven it at full speed for five hours and i still have about 70% battery life. So i can run it all day and charge it at night and should be good. Also this dam thing is going about 10 mph with these battery's so i have plenty of speed.

How is it driven, belt, chain or transmission? The deck is easy. It is hard to see your work on a rider. I built one using a zero turn lawn mower. It is fast, and does a great job.

I wonder how difficult it would be to make a homemade turbo twister from a lawnmower and some SC parts. That would be awesome. You'd think someone would be manufacturing something similar by now...

A lot of it is supply and demand, if a lot of people wanted one, they would be hounding the vendors and someone out there would start making something similar but not everyone out there is doing huge areas of concrete to justify the purchase or need for one of those units.
I agree, it would be nice if vendors were making larger surface cleaners that were motor driven so they could be driven by 5gpm or 8gpm pressure washers.
There might be patents on the swabby and turbo twister which would end up making them a patent infringement to make something very similar or exact but there is enough creativity out there that some new technogy could make something similar, cost effective and affordable.
I like the swabby with the belt driven spray bars so more pressure is hitting the surface, like the turbo twister.
The Turbo Twister is a 36" cleaning deck driven by the engine on top of the machine where the swabby has 4 spray bars driven by a belt which is powered by the zero turn mower itself and can clean a 48" wide path fast.
Both of these machines need a lot of room on the trailer or truck by themselves so it is not feasible for every contractor out there and you don't want one of these for just cleaning driveways, kind of over-kill for driveways but for long sidewalks, shopping centers, parking lots, parking garages, etc.....this is what makes life much better and helps you get the job done a lot faster so you can move onto the next project.

I am not an engineer but I am sure that with the many pressure washing vendors out there, this could be done and reasonably cost effective. Sure not all contractors out there would be able to afford this but for those that clean huge concrete areas, it would be worth it to them to make the job much faster so they are competitive and efficient.
