question for you
i have a f150 with a stupid 2 inc lift[got it that way] pull a small enclosed trailer[put wash unit in it for winter use]
i could make up a trailer rig trailer is around $2000 for open and 2 5000lb axels/with brakes.
not good in winter time. cheaper insurance.
I found a older chevy C-60 box truck [gas engine] needs some work but not a junker.
could get it for $2800 gvw 24,000lbs
i am worried that gas prices will kill me plus insurance.
the third option is a jap box truck owned by a really good mechanic gvw only 13,000
and would prob. need a trailer to haul water when needed or small tank mounted in truck 250 gal.
$8000 diesel engine little banged up but fixable.
last choice is a lettered box van, used for pressure washing, no tank 100,000 miles wants $2,500 gas duell wheels
should i stop looking at old trucks and save for a new box truck or do you think one of these will do for now to make money faster to buy a newer rig?

If it was me,I'd look for a used 1 ton, best time to find them is in the winter months when farmers are saling their eqt.,seen some sale for 2,3,600 for 80's model, diesel and gas.

Man I the last person to ask b/c I'm at a stand still not knowing which way I'm going. If I stay in powerwashing the next rig will be a 1 ton not a trailer rig.Trailers are ok and good to work off of and you can use the pulling truck to go to church or pickup lady friends.Think the open 1 tons would be great in getting closer and not stre'ghted out a mile long, guess both would have their be-n-fits........I'm still thinking about getting into detailing and polishing big rigs tanks, getting bored with just washing them.

lettered box van, used for pressure washing, no tank 100,000 miles wants $2,500 gas duell wheels.........if its in good shape think I would look it over, you can upgrade later,it could last just as long as a new one maybe even better.

thanks for the input bigboy.
did i here you say your getting the CYCLO duel head soon?
i would love to try one of those drum polishers for airplanes.
you tried that rolite polishing stuff yet?
polishing is some very dirty work
noisey,boring,and hard
just like pressure washing. lol
can you get people to pay you what its worth to do detailing?
some damn fleet washer just going to mess up all your hard work. lol
When you get that 2 headed polisher, learn the 8 way tie job for the 32"x32" tee shirt polishing rag. look for a old washer and dryer also
dont want that stuff washed in the same machine you do your own clothes in.
good luck

No,haven't tried rolite yet and yel the CYCLO will my next tool.
Want be looking for the ""can you get people to pay you what its worth to do detailing?"" plus I'm not going after the big rigs business, going after wittle trucks and cars.Yel,I know some dang fleetwasher will say bad things about me when they try to wash a big rig after its been detailed,I never liked washing one after it had been detailed.Bead up so bad your soap cann't even break though, just beads up and runs off but after a few times 2-stepping it they clean alot better, hehe.

Man I power polished the red one tuesday, first time I had ever used a speed buffer and was a little on the scared side buffing on the red one first but ifen I going to learn speed buffing without swirls I may as well learn on my pretty red truck.Did ok with it every every few swirls but but but but Wednesday another coat of wax was going it and so for I've just done the hood, dang swirl marks man and I do not why, doing every thing I did tuesday,,No pads not dirty(new),same wax, same guy appling it,same everything but the swirls, guess I patted myself on the back to quick for not leaving swirls the first time,,maybe the Liquid glass polish and the Meg. Gold wax that was applied to it hadn't had time to bond together yet as the reason for the swirls, sure do not want to Glaze it again but will if I have to.
Got some pinnacle wax coming for the white one, they say it will make white look like its got bady oil on it,if it turns out looking like that I redo the red one too.Pinnacle makes a wax that cost 6999.00 for 8 oz. WOW told them to send me the cheaper stuff,I ordered the pinnacle Sovereign which I think was 64 for 8 oz shipped.
looked at some chrome rims Wednesday for the red one, fixen to add more stuff to both of them this year, fancy rims is on the list for both.Ifen I do go into detailing I can use the trucks as show ya what I can do to your too ifen you want to pay the price, lol.Looking at building a shop to hold 4 cars and trucks as to work on 4 at a time,lol....love night work.

I've got to go wash a truck this morning b/c its getting detailed today, polished tanks, rims and all.Its bad enough washing them after they are detailed and polished but this is the only time I get to use HF acid and cus'tic soap on a polished rig,yel I get to use HF to clean them up for detailing,I can streak polished tanks and rims ifen I want to,,,,this is how I learn alot on how to wash polished rigs and what I can use....ifen I screw it up he'll fix it when detailing.

i used some hf on a polished rig last week.
streaked the rims from the holes down.
brand new rig guy got it in oct. wash for the first time last sat.
my first white truck not bad to wash
3M makes lots of good stuff for detailing
when it comes to detailing for REAL it takes a lot of know how.
diffrent grits of compounds
your touch, as in how you use the tools.
cyclo no swirlmarks
wish i had the $1200 for a air drum polisher
could do cars, trucks, big rigs, planes, and boats.
i got more ideas then time.
make sure your shop has good lighting, what looks good in a shop may look like crapola in the sun.
liquid glas is good stuff its really not a wax its a coating

You can flash the polished rims and get by with it IF you'll rinse and rinse as for it to not streak under the nut (s),those dang chrome caps will catch the HF and leak out if you do not rinse good after flashing with HF but it can be done. When flashing polished rims with HF do not aim at the chrome caps, start your rinsing at the lugnuts and end your rinsing at the lugnuts.

At the time I'm not wanting to polish tanks and rims on big rigs, that is not until I learn the right way and I know they do not do it the right way around here,I wash to many of them to know a good job and a bad job and if its done right, they are leaving off 2 steps that they should be doing to get the mir-O shine and the hardest they need to last a year without having to redo them.....see I'm learning how to take their business away from them *LOL*.

Yel,Liquid Glass is a polish and its as hard as nails with a great shine,it'll last a year before redoing but the wax I applied on top of it to pro'tect the polish will only last a month( maybe 3 months) if setting out side in the weather, some waxes will last a few months, yel I know what they say on the bottle but I think they are talking about a car thats setting inside all day under AC,lol.I shoot for 3 months before I rewaxem with 2 to 7 coats depends on how much wiping I want to do.
As in the powerwashing bussiness looking for dat all mighty wonder soap the detailing bussiness is gooding for dat all mighty shine,it's a never ending battle always wanting better, think we're getting lazy.

I couldn't fallow your link but did type in www.liquidglass.com and it took me to the right web page.

Yes thats it and yes it works great on paint, chrome and alum.

I ordered some pinnacale sovereign to try on the other truck which cost think 60 something shipped for 8 oz.,if you want to see high dallor waxes go to pinnacale and Zymol web page, would ya believe 7000 for 8 oz.The higher the percent of Carnauba in a wax the higher the price, think the highest percent you can get is 60% but they are noway I can afford 60% 0r not even 30% or ect.
