Don't look like Jason. More like Jose, Jesus or Jorge.
That's just an RAC application right? After a cleaning? This is the part of your system that works great. It's the cleaning that requires too much time on roof that I wouldn't be able to sell. Our WC goes to $0.42/$1.00 as soon as we step foot on roof, so the less time the better.
How much does it cost your applicators for the pesticide license? Or do you guys take care of that for them?
His name is actually Jason and he is doing the Roof-A-Cide application in a community that my Roof Cleaning company is going in to re-treat next week - 511 Homes. The community cleaned all of the roofs prior to us coming in back in ’06 and they are on a 2-year cycle, switching over to RAC after doing the Roof Cleaning and Pressure Washing in-house for the last 10 years. They are now saving $20k/year by going with our system.
And you are right, the cleaning is the most time consuming and expensive part of what we do - and that's why we focus on prevention. Less labor, less cost, less time, less wear & tear on the roof, etc. Even though it will cost more in chemicals per roof, so what. Next week, we'll be doing 50 roofs per day. And when we're done with this community, we have another community of 230 homes we'll be doing right after them - and once again, they're all clean already.
Our Workers Comp rate is ridiculously low. I won't mention it here, but as soon as we step on a roof it goes to 30%. But even at that rate, the margins are still unheard of in most other industries.
For now, Florida does not require a pesticide license for what we do, but the products have to be registered with the EPA and Department of Agriculture. But since the laws are interpreted or enforced differently in each state, we handle them as we need to.
