Help on biding gas station cain

Hello Guys and Gals need some help. I been asked to bid on national gas station cleaning they want me to bid on 70 stores. What they are looking to have done is sidewalk, gas station island's, parking area and the canopy. I asked them what was the range bids he was recieving was 600-1700 to me that sound low.

they only want spring tyime cleaning 8 islands, 10 car parking spot in front of the store and the sidewalk that goes in front of the store. plus they want front of the store cleaned water is avialable to use canopy size do not know off hand. the Manager said that the last guy did it for $800 I am thinking that is his price wants it for.

Is this the Murphys bid?

The last guy obviously didn't make him happy if you are being requested to price it! No idea on how much driving is involved or amount of gum but I'd throw a higher number and sell the job on quality of work being done. My experience with gas stations is that there can be just as much gum around the islands as there is on the sidewalks so beware of that when looking at the job.

Chris do you have hot water if not get it or pass. also 70 stores is going to require travel and at least 1 helper you need to know those expenses. Reclaim is going to be required if its the bid I am thinking it is. I have all the equipment and resources for the bid already and it is not worth it for the price they want to pay.

I have been looking at hot box and I know need it for that type work. Also looked cost to add second person also though about the price reclaim also the number days that is going to be needed out of town. this is what I am up with cost of hotel and food adding 1-2 new employees and some new equipment I looking at $1700-2000 to clean each and every store.

I is not Murphys one of largest gas station chains in florida.

Some more things to consider:

How long does it take them to pay? Do you have the capital to pay for fuel, degreaser, workers, hotels, food, etc..... for the locations you do until you see some money, some places are 30, 45 and some are 60 days until you see a check.

Do you have a fuel card to help with this type of project, they can come in handy for these types of jobs and gives you some time before having to pay for the fuel but you still have to pay labor, hotels, food, etc....

To highlight the point that Greg is making, at times our schedule is taking us to Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater and all over Central FL with overnight stays, gas, diesel, good, repairs, replacements for wear & tear we might be $20,000 in before we see the checks appearing. Throw in your payroll taxes, insurance, etc. you need to have crossed all your t's and dotted all your i's.

But hey, if the numbers work for you - do what you need to do to make money. Just make sure you ARE making money.

I recieved the vender packet from sunco friday just got chance to sit down read it.
