O.K. my p.w.'er wont start. I took it off the cart the other night to mount it in my truck bed. I had to tilt it a little but turned the gas off first. I thought I might have flooded it. I tried cranking it for an hour today and got nothing. Had to pull off the job becuase of it.
It worked fine before. It doesnt turn over or nothing. Its only about a year old. Its a rope start with on/off switch.

I have to get this job done tomorrow! Help!

I have a 2.7 gpm machine that runs great. But will my 4 gpm d.s. injector or x-jet work with it? Or would I be better off using the Delevan? Its just a basic housewash.

Need suggestions ASAP!

Thanks

I agree, check the spark plug. My Honda HP was running poorly, I thought dirt in the carb ( I worked on Honda's and Accra's for 23 years) cleaned the carb and it still ran bad. Replaced the spark plug ( the old one looked like new) and it's been runnig great for over a year.

When you say it won't turn over do you mean it acts if it's locked up? If so you may have leaned over too far for too long and oil got past the rings. If so you'll need to flush the combustion chamber.

no its not locked up. It just wont start.

I just remembered that it was blowing a little bit of black smoke the last couple of times it was running. If that means anything....

could be burning oil, then fouled the plug

Yea I think Im going to start with changing the oil and plug then go from there.

I appreciate the input guys. But you can keep'em coming.

If its not level it wont start.put it back on the ground where its level and try it.

Already tried that. I just put it back on the cart. Broke the rope twice trying to start it.

Im p***ed about this:mad:

Black smoke usually means rich fuel. White is oil. Pull the plug and crank it over without the plug in and the wire away from a ground to clear the cylinder. If it blows gas it was probably flooded. Let it air out a few install the plug and try it again. One of mine floods every time I forget to shut the fuel off which means the float needle is leaking. In any case like the guys say swap out the plug. If that doesn't work start with the basics. Spark, fuel, compression.

Thanks. How would it be getting too rich of fuel or oil?
It normally would blow white smoke when choking/starting, then it would go away after it was running.

If you tipped it, you may have lodged debris in the low oil float switch. Make sure there's plenty of oil in it, then unplug the yellow wire that comes out the side of the engine block. If it starts, there's three courses of action.
1. You leave it unplugged and maybe the oil sloshing while it's running may free it up.
2. You take the engine off, drain the oil, fill it with kerosene, shake the piss out of it, drain the kero, and refill with oil...sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
3. You remove the side cover from the engine and replace the switch.

If you pull the yellow wire and it doesn't start, then it's not the oil float.

***UPDATE***

Changed the spark plug and went ahead and changed the oil. Started right up on the first try.
Thanks again guys for the input.

Thanks Russ. I figured if this didnt work it would be a bad sensor or switch becuase it acted like it wasnt getting any fire at all.

Thanks again. Glad to be back up and running.
